Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) subsidiary CSI Solar will launch the EP Cube, a lightweight energy storage solution for the residential market, at the RE+ trade show in Anaheim, California.

The EP Cube is customizable and designed with homeowners needs in mind. Now homeowners don’t need to pick and choose what gets power in their homes and what doesn’t, as the EP cube has the capacity to power the entire place. There are perks for technicians as well, as it’s easy to install, which can drive growth and offer sufficient savings.

“We are pleased to expand our clean energy offering into the residential energy storage market by launching the EP Cube, leveraging our existing partnerships and channels. The recently enacted Inflation Reduction Act will help the U.S. market transition faster towards clean power by increasing renewable energy accessibility through tax breaks and rebates. The EP Cube is a perfect solution for homeowners to use these incentives and invest in clean energy,” said Dr Shawn Qu, chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar.

There’s been a considerable rise in demand for alternative energy for the past two decades, and Canadian Solar has been around to take advantage of most of it. The company was founded in 2001 in Canada as one of the largest solar tech and renewable energy companies. It makes solar photovoltaic modules, and is a provider of solar energy and battery storage solutions while developing solar power and battery projects with a sizeable geographical footprint.

The company has delivered 76 GW of quality, solar photovoltaic modules to customers around the world in its 21 years, and only entered the project development business in 2010 by developing, building and connecting over 6.8 Gwp in over 20 countries.

A few features of the EP Cube include:

  • Completely scalable and customizable with a capacity range of 9.9 kWh to 19.9-kWh.
  • Compact with an all-in-one design and hybrid inverter, offering stackable battering modules to optimize wall space.
  • Lightweight, easy installation, with all-inclusive components and self-configuration for fast commissioning.
  • Capable of using new and retrofit, AC and DC-coupled PV systems.

The company will also be releasing an application to give a hand to homeowners seeking to manage their energy storage systems. The EP Cube app includes programs for real-time monitoring of energy production and consumption, as well as access to home energy management and software update services. Installers will use the application to set up and troubleshoot the system. The Cube will debut at RE+ booth #2204 in Anaheim, California from September 19-22.
