Truss Beverage Co. is putting the first cannabis-infused mocktails on shelves this October starting with two drinks inspired by popular alcohol cocktails.

On Wednesday, the popular pot beverage company announced the release of its House of Terpenes Canntinis which are crafted in collaboration with mixologists from Quell.

The company will launch two flavours inspired by popular cocktails, the Cranberry Citrus which is inspired by the Cosmopolitan and the Ginger Lime inspired by the Moscow Mule. The drinks contain 10 milligrams of THC and are set to be on shelves by October 17.

Truss Beverage Co. is a joint venture between affiliates of Molson Coors Canada and Hexo Corp. (TSX: HEXO; NASDAQ: HEXO).

According to Fortune Business Insights, the global cannabis beverages market is projected to grow from $915 million in 2021 to $19 billion in 2028 at a CAGR of 54.31 per cent.

“Taste is the number one purchase consideration driver of cannabis beverages, so it was critical to prioritize crafting cannabis mocktails that are true-to-taste,” said Melanie Smith, Innovation Lead at Truss Beverage Co.

“Having consulted award-winning beverage experts at Quell, including Evelyn Chick, Christina Veira and Trevor Lui, our ambition was to ensure that the Canntinis are just as delicious and flavourful as widely recognized cocktails, but without the alcohol.”

“Consumer feedback shows that the demand for alternative beverages to alcohol has never been stronger, particularly when it comes to social occasions,” said Lori Hatcher, Head of Commercial at Truss Beverage Co.

“House of Terpenes Canntinis not only fulfills this consumer need but brings something entirely new and unexpected to the cannabis beverage category.”
