THC BioMed brings ‘true smoking alternative’ beverage shot to market

The company says it’s already completing orders in BC and Saskatchewan

British Columbia-based producer THC BioMed Intl, Ltd. (CSE: THC) is shipping its first orders of a new ready-to-drink THC beverage shot.

The company said its first shipment of THC KISS went out to recreational stores in B.C. on Thursday.

THC BioMed says it’s also filled a second order for its Saskatchewan distributor, and is in negotiations with Alberta to sell the drinkable cannabis shots there.

Company stock was up 15 per cent on the day to $0.155 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

The company claims that its THC KISS offers a different experience compared to edibles and beverages currently available in the legal or grey markets.

According to THC BioMed, its beverage shot is intended to be an alternative to smoking weed and was developed by the company using proprietary extraction methods.

CEO John Miller said in the statement that his company continues to get positive feedback from consumers, with repeat orders per client increasing “substantially.”

“We are proud to bring Canadians a true alternative to smoking cannabis,” he said.

Each 30ml bottle of THC KISS contains 10 mg of THC, and currently sells for $4.20 to medical patients on the company’s website.

THC BioMed also produces cigarette-style cannabis stick pre-rolls with biodegradable filters, and has a patent pending hardware solution for shipping clones to consumers.

The new THC shot is a different approach to drinkable weed, which trended toward the infused beverage category. Notable examples include offerings from extractor Valens GroWorks, Corp. (TSXV: VLNS) and Canopy Growth, Corp. (TSX: WEED).

Both companies released their first drinks in March. Thus far, reviews in terms of flavour and experience have been mixed.
