SeeByte Ltd and Kraken Robotics Inc. (TSXV: PNG) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to combine their technologies.

Announced on Wednesday, the new coalition’s goal is to provide customers with an integrated solution for maritime operations, covering mission planning, data collection, and analysis.

Kraken provides advanced synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) systems for maritime platforms.  These include uncrewed underwater vehicles and the KATFISH towed system.  Meanwhile, SeeByte develops maritime software solutions like SeeTrack MMS, Neptune Autonomy System, and Automated Target Recognition.

Together, they offer customers a fully integrated system for maritime operations that combines high-quality sonar data with advanced mission management tools for optimal planning, analysis, and decision-making.

“This collaborative approach brings together a best-of-breed solution to satisfy the needs of our maritime and naval customers,” said Chris Haworth, CEO of SeeByte.

“We are excited to add Kraken to the long list of SeeByte collaborators, and look forward to seeing the capabilities of this combined solution for high-resolution seabed intelligence.”

Greg Reid, CEO of Kraken, emphasized that Kraken delivers minehunting solutions that provide high-quality seabed intelligence from sonar data, helping customers make critical decisions.

Their sonar systems, capable of 400m swaths and 2 cm x 2 cm resolutions, are used globally for important decision-making.

Kraken is excited about integrating with SeeByte after several successful collaborations, as it will allow navies to utilize SeeByte’s mission management tools for better planning, analysis, and review of Kraken’s high-resolution sonar data.

SeeByte and Kraken will showcase their collaboration at the NATO Exercise REPMUS 2024 in September.
