An American dietary supplement company producing health and wellness products since 1994 entered the CBD industry in 2018 and will soon be providing Canadians with a new collection of cannabis derivative capsules to support their well-being (and of course, generate revenue).

On Thursday, Irwin Naturals Inc. (CSE: IWIN) (OTC: IWINF) (FRA: 97X) and Entourage Health Corp. (TSX-V: ENTG) (OTCQX: ETRGF) (FSE: 4WE) unveiled news of a mutual licensing agreement for the distribution of a new line of cannabinoid extracts.

Irwin began formulating THC products this year, and in addition to its newly announced Canadian distribution endeavours — the organization has a goal to distribute its cannabis merchandise through all 38 American states where the plant is currently legal.

Irwin Naturals is a company that claims to have herbal supplements available in 100,000 stores throughout North America. The company says that its mission is to heal the world with plant medicines and become one of the first household name brands to provide THC-based products. Irwin became a publicly traded company on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) in August last year.

Entourage Health is a Toronto-based cannabis distributor serving the medical and recreational markets. The company owns and operates an advanced greenhouse and processing facility in Strathroy, Ontario; a state-of-the-art complex specializing in extraction in Aylmer, Ontario; and a micropropagation, tissue culture and genetics centre in Guelph.

With the new business arrangement, Irwin Naturals will soon have a novel line of soft gel capsules available in five different varieties throughout Canadian dispensaries. That assortment of orally administered extracts will contain THC, CBD and CBN. All capsule formulations will utilize hempseed oil, and they are listed as follows –

  1. 10 milligram THC capsules
  2. 25 milligram CBD capsules
  3. 1:1 capsules containing 10 milligrams of THC and 10 milligrams of CBD
  4. 5:1 capsules containing 50 milligrams of CBD and 10 milligrams of THC
  5. 2:1 capsules containing 10 milligrams of THC and five milligrams of CBN

“With Irwin’s highly regarded portfolio of products and brand loyalty coupled with our expertise in medical cannabis, we are introducing a game-changing pairing that will debut an array of Irwin Naturals-branded cannabis products in unique THC and CBD formulations. Additionally, we applaud the latest regulatory recommendations that could potentially put Irwin Naturals-branded CBD line on shelves across national pharmacies as Canadians look for accessible ways to include quality produced CBD products into their self-care regimes,” said George Scorsis, CEO and Executive Chairman at Entourage.

The new cannabis products from Irwin will initially launch on the Starseed Medicinal channel in Q4 this year and eventually expand into other retail markets throughout Canada.

Starseed Medicinal is a medical cannabis producer owned by Entourage that currently offers over 45 different products.

“We’ve set out to become the first household brand to have its products available on dispensary shelves across America. This partnership with Entourage takes that plan international, pairing our trusted, proven herbal supplement business with a cutting-edge cannabis company to open a new frontier in our business,” said Klee Irwin, CEO of Irwin Naturals.
