Champion Electric Metals Inc. (CSE: LTHM) (OTCQB: GLDRF) (FSE: 1QB0) completed an airborne time-domain electromagnetic (TDEM) survey in Quebec before it evacuated its property due to the forest fire.
The company said on Friday that its survey team flew over its base metal targets originally identified in its 2022 VLF-EM survey at the Champion Electric Lithium Project.
Prospectair Geosurveys recently finished conducting the TDEM high-resolution airborne survey, covering a distance of 351-line kilometers. The survey focused on areas of interest within the 2022 airborne geophysical survey coverage.
The company conducted a comprehensive review of historical data prior to the exam, which revealed several positive indicators suggesting that the project holds significant potential for lithium mineralization, similar to the neighboring Corvette and Cancet deposits.
Its main objective was to investigate specific shallow VLF-EM conductive anomalies in the Lac Guyer Greenstone Belt. These ultramafic rocks are known to possess anomalous concentrations of Ni (Nickel), Co (Cobalt) and Cr (Chromium), making them potentially valuable for base metals mineralization.
“Although lithium is our primary focus in Quebec, we cannot neglect the fact that our 100% owned 500 km2 project in James Bay is also highly prospective for base and precious metals,” said Jonathan Buick, president and CEO.
After the preliminary analysis of the TDEM data the company observed that distinct late-time conductive anomalies, which could potentially indicate the presence of bedrock massive sulphide mineralization, are evident within the interpreted ultramafic horizons.
Further updates will be provided once the ongoing processing, modelling and interpretation of the final TDEM data is concluded. The identified targets will be evaluated in the field alongside the planned exploration activities for lithium-bearing pegmatites, once the fieldwork recommences.

Previous results recorded high lithium values
Situated within the northern extension of the Lac Guyer Greenstone Belt (LGGB), which hosts the Corvette and Cancet lithium pegmatite deposits, the project showcased promising prospects.
Previous sampling efforts within the project area yielded noteworthy results, with rock samples recording lithium values of up to 107 ppm and lake sediments showing values of 28 ppm. In 2003, drilling conducted by the Quebec government uncovered a 3-meter-thick pegmatite at a depth of 19 meters, indicating the potential presence of shallow pegmatite swarms within the project. However, no lithium analysis was performed on the pegmatite intercept.
To aid in target identification, regional airborne magnetics and satellite multi-spectral data were reprocessed and interpreted. Consequently, the target generation exercise pinpointed 17 priority areas deemed highly prospective for lithium pegmatite. The company’s compilation and review of historical work programs also unveiled over 19 reports of pegmatite outcrops on the property, primarily hosted within the LGGB’s favorable mafic sequence, but these have yet to be sampled and analyzed specifically for lithium content.
The company’s lithium properties are adjacent to Patriot Battery Metals‘ (TSXV: PMET), (ASX: PMT), (OTCQX: PMETF), (FWB: R9GA) Corvette Project, which recently reported significant lithium intersections. In particular, drill hole CV23-148 intersected a 95.3-meter interval from 137.3 meters to 232.6 meters, grading at 1.62 per cent Li2O.
This intersection included a higher-grade section of 47.6 meters grading at 2.09 per cent Li2O, as well as a narrower zone of 4.1 meters grading at 4.44 per cent Li2O. Additionally, Winsome Resources‘ (ASX: WR1) advanced Cancet Project is also located nearby.
