NevGold Corp (CVE: NAU) (OTCMKTS: NAUFF) (FRA: 5E50) has strengthened its board by appointing Nevada government affairs veteran Scott Bensing as an independent non-executive director, adding decades of political and regulatory experience as the company advances its antimony-gold Limo Butte project in Nevada.
Announced on Thursday, the appointment took effect immediately. Bensing brings more than 25 years of experience in government relations and external affairs at both the Nevada state and U.S. federal levels. He previously served as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He also held senior staff positions in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Additionally, he served as the first chief of staff to former U.S. Senator John Ensign.
Before entering political leadership, Bensing served as a U.S. naval officer. He worked as a congressional liaison for the Secretary of the Navy. He also served during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Later, he worked as an aide to the admiral commanding the NATO Standing Naval Force.
Bensing remains active in Nevada community organizations. He currently serves on the Tahoe Fund board and the Tahoe Transportation District board after an appointment by Governor Joe Lombardo. Furthermore, he recently became chairman of PTSDNOW!, a non-profit supporting military veterans. His previous leadership roles include chairman of the Nevada Military Support Alliance and appointments to the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Children and the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy. He also holds a master’s degree in public administration from American University.

Stock option grant forms long-term incentive program
Chief executive officer Brandon Bonifacio said Bensing’s experience in Nevada and Washington will help the company advance discussions surrounding the Limo Butte project. He added that Bensing’s understanding of government processes should support strategic engagement as NevGold continues developing the antimony-gold asset.
“After completion of our recently announced maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), we have defined a highly strategic, domestic antimony resource that has significant implications to the national security of the United States,” said Bonifacio.
The company also announced a large stock option grant for directors, officers and consultants. It issued 4.85 million stock options under its omnibus equity compensation plan.
Each option allows the holder to purchase one common share at an exercise price of CAD$1.50. The options expire on July 30, 2031.
Meanwhile, the grants form part of the company’s long-term incentive program. Such awards typically aim to align management and directors with shareholder interests by linking compensation to future share performance.
NevGold continues to focus on advancing the Limo Butte project, which contains both antimony and gold. Interest in antimony projects has increased as governments seek to strengthen domestic supplies of critical minerals used in defence applications, batteries and flame-retardant products. The addition of Bensing’s government affairs expertise comes as the company works to advance discussions related to the Nevada project.
