NevGold discovers transformational oxide gold-antimony structure at Limousine Butte

The find brings enhanced optimism as NevGold works toward producing its first Mineral Resource Estimate

NevGold Corp‘s (CVE: NAU) (OTCMKTS: NAUFF) (FRA: 5E50) prospecting team just made a critical discovery at the junior’s Limousine Butte project in Nevada.

Through the latest drilling, hitting thick intervals of high-grade oxide gold laced with antimony, they have identified a highly promising new structure within the property’s Bullet Zone. It has been designated as the Armory Fault.

This discovery excites the team because it confirms a major new control on where the metals sit. Thought to be a key structural control of the site’s mineralization, a feature like this serves as a key indicator of the project’s geological layout. Its discovery should help NevGold predict and find more high-grade zones faster, making the whole project stronger and easier to develop.

In this case, a structural control is a fault in the rock that guides hot fluids carrying gold and antimony up from deep underground. The feature acts sort of like a road, directing these fluids to certain spots where the gold drops out and forms richer deposits. By chasing this fault style, NevGold’s updated model now predicts similar high-grade corridors across the entire property.

Step-out drilling at the Bullet Zone responsible for the discovery delivered strong numbers. One hole returned 8.51 grams per tonne gold equivalent (AuEq) over 10.6 metres, consisting of 8.11 g/t gold and 0.10 percent antimony. This intercept was identified within a much longer 86.8-metre interval containing an average of 2.32 g/t AuEq. One 3-metre section of this cut graded at 12.34 g/t gold equivalent.

This find, described as “transformational” by CEO Brandon Bonifacio, brings NevGold one step closer to producing Limo Butte’s inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate. The new fault expands the mineralized area, lifts average grades and adds clear upside to the operation’s outlook.

“The mineralization footprint and upside that we have added to the future potential gold-antimony Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) is significant,” Bonifacio said, “and we will start our 2026 drill program as rapidly as possible to further test this evolving, high-grade target area.”

He believes the target model can be replicated across the entire project.

Antimony plays a vital role in U.S. military technology

The critical mineral strengthens many essential defence systems. It gets mixed with lead to harden bullets, shells and explosives so they perform better under stress. The metalloid also powers night-vision goggles, infrared sensors on vehicles and drones, and reliable communication gear in harsh conditions. Submarines and warships use antimony compounds in specialized batteries and flame-retardant coatings that protect sensitive equipment.

The United States government has recognized antimony as a critical mineral because domestic supply falls far short of demand. Pentagon planners track the commodity closely and fund projects to restart U.S. mining and processing. American government agencies have been awarding millions to companies like United States Antimony Corp (NYSEAMERICAN: UAMY), Perpetua Resources Corp (TSE: PPTA) (NASDAQ: PPTA) and Nova Minerals Ltd (OTCMKTS: NVAAF) (FRA: QM3) (ASX: NVA) to help strengthen national reserves.

As military modernization accelerates demand keeps climbing, making other domestic sources like Limousine Butte increasingly appealing for government stakeholders too.

Oxide gold is convenient for extraction

Mining companies favour oxide gold like that in the material at Limousine Butte because it leaches easily and cheaply. Heap leaching, a process that involves crushing ore, stacking it in large heaps on lined pads and sprinkling a mild cyanide solution over top of it, dissolves this type of gold very efficiently before it gets collected in columns at the base.

Oxide gold results from a multi-million-year process where surface weathering breaks down the host rock and frees tiny gold particles so they sit ready for simple processing.

Sulfide gold, on the other hand, locks tiny gold grains inside tough sulphur minerals such as pyrite. To extract it, operators are required to use a process that is much more time and energy consuming. This procedure involves additional steps like roasting ore with intense heat, using high-pressure oxygen or treating it with special bacteria.

NevGold’s oxide gold zones avoid these hurdles completely, allowing the company to move toward economical production while still recovering the bonus antimony values without hurting gold recovery.

With the Armory Fault now in play, NevGold is well-positioned. The project combines high grades, simple metallurgy, and dual-metal potential at a time when the United States actively seeks reliable domestic supplies of both gold and strategic antimony. Investors are watching closely as drilling ramps up this year and NevGold moves closer to showcasing a defined resource.
