‘ATMA CENA’ will soon have 13 psychedelics clinics operating in Canada

The clinics focus on ketamine therapy while offering MDMA and psilocybin to those eligible

Building on the launch of four clinics in Alberta and Ontario early last year, ATMA CENA has now expanded its footprint significantly with 13 locations soon to be operational throughout the country.

The progress update was revealed in a news release on Oct. 1. Eight are currently operational and five more will begin providing services in the next few months.

The psychedelic therapy company primarily provides ketamine to patients, but also administers psilocybin and MDMA to the select few who have received Special Access Program authorization from the Canadian government.

Ketamine is not considered to be a Schedule III controlled substance in the country but the latter two psychedelics are and remain heavily regulated by domestic authorities. Though classified as a Schedule I substance under Canada’s Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, obtaining access is much less difficult.

ATMA CENA also offers Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) therapy and other orthodox therapies. rTMS involves providing a subject with magnetic pulses applied to their scalp with the intention of enhancing brain function. It has been proven to be valuable for treating major depressive disorder in particular.

“This expansion is more than numbers,” said CEO Reverdi Darda. “It is about building a system that supports therapists, empowers communities and ensures that advanced mental health treatments can be delivered safely, within regulation and at scale.”

ATMA CENA now has fully operational clinic locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Mississauga, London, Vaughan, Oakville and Sarnia. Others will soon be opening their doors in Saskatoon, Windsor, North Bay, Montreal and Hamilton. Ontario’s greater population evidently needs more attention.

“Our goal has always been to walk alongside the therapist community: to partner with clinicians who are advancing care and to remove the barriers that hold them back,” commented co-founder Vu Tran. “With this network, we’re one step closer.”

Like other psychedelic-assisted therapy clinics in Canada and the United States, ATMA CENA aims to help patients overcome substance use disorders, PTSD, depression, chronic pain and other debilitating conditions.

Numinus Wellness Inc (TSE: NUMI) (OTCMKTS: NUMIF) (FRA: LR23) is ATMA CENA’s top competitor in the sector.
