HEALWELL expands AI in healthcare with AmadeusAI

HEALWELL’s SMARTSuite of AI-powered tools are the core of the platform

HEALWELL AI Inc. (TSE: AIDX) (OTCMKTS: HWAIF) reached a major milestone this week, announcing the global launch of AmadeusAI.

Announced on Thursday, the platform integrates the company’s DARWEN AI technology with Orion Health’s Amadeus system, creating a powerful tool to help doctors and health systems analyze patient information and make faster, better decisions.

The new platform goes beyond standard record-keeping. It can take structured data, like lab results, and unstructured data, like doctors’ notes, and turn them into usable insights. By doing this, AmadeusAI helps healthcare providers identify patients who may be at risk and take preventive action. This supports a shift from reactive care to proactive care, which can improve outcomes and reduce costs.

At the core of the platform is HEALWELL’s SMARTSuite of AI-powered tools. These include SMARTSearch, SMARTSummary, and SMARTIdentify, each designed to solve a specific challenge in modern healthcare.

SMARTSearch lets clinicians use natural language to find information quickly across multiple types of records. Doctors can ask plain-language questions and pull up critical data hidden in notes, lab reports, or charts. This reduces the mental burden of digging through complex files and allows for faster and safer decisions.

SMARTSummary condenses scattered patient data into clear narratives tailored to different roles in the healthcare system. For example, a nurse may need a summary of medications while a specialist may need detailed lab history. The tool provides up-to-date overviews that cut through complexity and ensure both clinicians and patients make informed choices at the point of care.

Health organizations under pressure

SMARTIdentify focuses on population health. It uses AI to combine clinical, demographic, and even social data to detect risks earlier. This allows hospitals and clinics to identify patient groups who may be vulnerable to certain conditions. By acting earlier, health systems can intervene before problems become severe, improving outcomes and lowering long-term costs.

James Lee, HEALWELL’s CEO, said the response from major customers has been encouraging.

He said that the original logic behind acquiring Orion Health was to integrate HEALWELL’s AI into Orion’s established platform. According to Lee, the launch of AmadeusAI shows the company is on track. He added that SMARTSuite elevates AmadeusAI by streamlining workflows, reducing cognitive load, and supporting proactive planning.

Orion Health’s Amadeus system already has a strong track record. It has supported national health networks in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

It has also been used by U.S. Health Information Exchanges and providers across the Middle East. With more than 30 years in operation, the platform has connected thousands of providers, exchanged billions of records, and touched the lives of over 150 million patients across 15 countries.

The new AmadeusAI builds on this foundation. Existing Amadeus customers can upgrade to the AI-enhanced version, allowing them to expand capabilities without disrupting established systems. HEALWELL is now working with global health organizations to test the platform’s value in real-world settings.

Technology not meant to replace clinicians

The company is particularly focused on three areas: search, summary, and patient identification.

These components were chosen because they address common pain points in healthcare. Doctors need quicker ways to find information, clearer overviews of patient histories, and better tools to spot at-risk patients. By meeting these needs, HEALWELL hopes to prove that integrated AI can improve efficiency while enhancing care quality.

Additionally, the company stresses that the technology is not meant to replace clinicians but to support them. By reducing repetitive tasks and organizing scattered data, AI allows doctors and nurses to focus on patients rather than paperwork. This also lowers the risk of errors caused by information overload.

Healthcare systems around the world face rising costs, aging populations, and workforce shortages. Consequently, solutions that boost efficiency and improve outcomes are in high demand. HEALWELL positions AmadeusAI as one of these solutions, combining Orion’s reach and HEALWELL’s AI expertise to meet urgent global needs.

Furthermore, the launch signals HEALWELL’s strategy for growth. The company aims to leverage Orion’s customer base and cross-sell its AI solutions to health networks already using the Amadeus platform. In doing so, HEALWELL expects to expand its global presence and strengthen its reputation as a leader in healthcare AI.

The company also highlights broader benefits. By helping providers catch health risks earlier, AmadeusAI could improve vaccination rates, speed up mandatory reporting of conditions, and even reduce the number of repeat emergency department visits. These improvements would not only save costs but also ease pressure on overloaded health systems.

Global rollout reflects growing role of AI in healthcare

In addition, HEALWELL sees AmadeusAI as a proof point of its Orion acquisition. The launch demonstrates how quickly the two companies have merged their strengths to deliver a product with immediate global applications. This integration also lays the groundwork for future innovation, as HEALWELL continues to refine its AI offerings.

The global rollout of AmadeusAI reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence in healthcare. For years, doctors have struggled with the challenge of managing vast amounts of fragmented data. Tools like AmadeusAI show how AI can transform that data into practical insights. While challenges remain, such as trust, privacy, and adoption, HEALWELL’s milestone suggests that AI is steadily becoming a standard part of clinical practice.

With AmadeusAI now available to customers worldwide, HEALWELL aims to prove that smarter technology can lead to healthier populations. The company’s focus on preventive care, combined with Orion’s long-standing reputation, positions it well to help reshape global healthcare delivery.
