We’ve all heard that when life gives you lemons you should make lemonade, but recently a Vancouver-based company has decided to take its lemons and infuse them into a ferocious new cannabinoid beverage.

On Wednesday, Xebra Brands Ltd. (CSE: XBRA) (OTCQB: XBRAF) (FSE: 9YC) was pleased to announce the summer debut of Vicious Citrus, a cannabis-infused lemonade.

The new refreshment is anticipated to become available in several Canadian provinces later this summer. Ontario has made an initial purchase order of 10,500 cans to be delivered out east in the next few weeks.

Xebra says that Vicious Citrus is one of a select few beverages in the Canadian market containing cannabinol (CBN), a distinct cannabinoid that has attracted a growing interest in North America. The beverage is non-carbonated and contains 10 milligrams of THC and 2 milligrams of CBN per can.

“We expect Vicious Citrus to connect with engaged consumers and quickly become a leader in the Canadian cannabis-infused beverage space,” said Jay Garnett, Chief Executive Officer of Xebra.

Xebra is a cannabis cultivation and product company focused on beverages, health and recreation. In addition to lemonade, the organization also offers energy drinks, seltzers, iced teas, soft drinks and CBD sports beverages. The publicly-traded company has shareholders across Canada, the United States, Colombia and Mexico.

In March, Xebra announced that the Supreme Court of Mexico had issued and recorded an official final written resolution granting an injunction to Xebra Mexico (Xebra’s wholly-owned Mexican subsidiary) that would help further the outright first-mover-advantage the company had gained in the Mexican cannabis market.

This final written resolution was a concluding step for the company to be able to commence cannabis-related operations in the country. Xebra believes there is a strong likelihood that the vast majority of industrial-scale cannabis operations in North America will be located in Mexico in the future.

Xebra plans to launch additional Vicious Citrus drinks in Canada later this year and into 2023. The company is also currently considering marketing Vicious Citrus and other cannabis-infused beverages on an international scale in other countries.
