Sterling and Yoti partnership introduces new digital identity options for background checks

Sterling (NASDAQ:STER) and Yoti are working together to streamline background checks and provide digital identity options.

The partnership will add to Sterling’s identity verification options in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East and African regions. Also, it will enable companies to add a digital identity verification toolkit to into their hiring processes prior to background checks. Additionally, this tightens pre-employment checks, reduces the need for physical documentation, and simplifies the hiring experience.

Yoti’s digital identity technology makes it easier and safer for people to prove a person’s identity. It offers verification solutions across the world, including verification for identity and age, and document eSigning, access management and authentication. Yoti has connected with the post office in the UK to bump ahead digital identity adoption. Now it’s connected to 11,500 post office branches, online and more. Over 12 million people have downloaded the app, which is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Polish.

The next stage in digital identity

Candidates who verify their identity using Sterling and Yoti will be able to create a reusable digital identity. That means one use of the verification process. Afterwards, they can share their details with other businesses, therefore streamlining the verification process for employers and candidates.

The partnership will create a fully-integrated workflow, structured around standards for digital identity and privacy preservation. The first phase is underway in the United Kingdom, but should be extending to Sterling’s international clients in 2023.
