Vancouver-based Giant Mining Corp (CNSX: BFG) (OTCMKTS: BFGFF) is using artificial intelligence to augment its upcoming exploration campaign. Next week, drills will hit the ground at the company’s Majuba Hill copper-silver-gold project in Nevada.
Giant Mining has finalized its primary targets in preparation for the upcoming drill program. The explorer employed the American AI software company ExploreTech to help identify these targets with its technology.
Several junior miners have been employing AI software to assist with their exploration initiatives in recent months as the tech continues to prove its value in the field. VRIFY, which just formally launched its “DORA” AI-assisted mineral discovery program at PDAC, is another notable software developer working with explorers in this manner.
“The collaborative effort by the Giant Mining team and ExploreTech utilized the companies extensive geophysical and drilling database,” Giant Mining highlighted in its news release on the subject.
The aim of the campaign is to further delineate copper mineralization at the site in preparation for completion of a mineral resource estimate.
The high price of gold, a key factor bringing continued optimism for gold producers in Nevada like Calibre Mining Corp (TSE: CXB) (OTCMKTS: CXBMF) (FRA: WCLA), is another factor giving Giant Mining enthusiasm for this year’s first drill program. Majuba Hill produced 5,800 ounces of gold during the first half of the twentieth century and is estimated to have a large quantity remaining.
“Gold has now surpassed US$3,000 per ounce and copper has just hit a 2025 high of US$4.93 per pound under threat of tariffs and looming copper shortfalls,” CEO David Greenway highlighted.

ExploreTech’s AI technology developed at Stanford University
The Engine AI program being used for this month’s drill campaign is the product of PhD research completed by ExploreTech’s founders at this prominent California school.
“We are excited by the ability to use artificial intelligence to create thousands of models to complement the exploration and development thesis of our already world-class technical team,” Greenway said in February when the companies announced their partnership.
Giant Mining’s 2025 drill program at Majuba Hill will consist of 1,340 metres. The junior has completed about 9,900 to date. A total of approximately 25,500 metres has been drilled by multiple property owners during the site’s lengthy history.
The property has been a subject of interest for the University of Nevada-Reno’s Center for Research in Economic Geology.
The state of Nevada is renowned for being one of the world’s best mining jurisdictions.
