A two-day cannabis-themed concert featuring artists known for their love of the plant like Cypress Hill will be making its way to Illinois this September.
Green Thumb Industries (CSE: GTII) (OTCQX: GTBIF) announced the upcoming concert on Wednesday, which will be hosted in part by its subsidiary Rythm Premium Cannabis. Green Thumb says this is the first concert in Illinois to openly welcome cannabis consumption.
In addition to Cypress Hill, known for popular tracks like “Hits from the Bong,” the event will feature Bob Marley’s son Stephen, the American rapper Action Bronson and several others. The concert is intended to unite people through a shared love of cannabis and music and will feature a “dab bar” for concentrate lovers and a cannabis beverage garden.
“The Miracle is our way of celebrating this unique intersection—with amazing music, high-quality weed and a welcoming community,” said Green Thumb’s Founder and CEO Ben Kovler.
The event will take place across the street from Green Thumb’s RISE Dispensary in Mundelein Illinois and attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
“We named the event ‘The Miracle’ because it really is remarkable that we can now bring cannabis and music together in 2023 and it is permitted and legal,” said Peter Shapiro, Founder of Daylglo Presents — a media company hosting the event in partnership with Rythm.

Other upcoming cannabis events in the United States include the Lucky Leaf cannabis expo in New Jersey this weekend, a concert with the rapper Fabolous at The House of Cannabis in New York City (THC NYC) on June 19 and the Cannabis Drinks Expo held in Chicago this August.
Adult-use cannabis sales commenced in Illinois on January 1, 2020 following medical cannabis being legal in the state since 2014. In December last year, the state established a Cannabis Research Institute in Chicago with the intention of educating the public about the scientific and socio-economic impacts of the plant.
Canada’s largest city also made a significant stride for open cannabis use last summer when Leafythings partnered with Toronto’s Grand Bizzare Supper Club to open the city’s first regulated “Cannabis Carnival” pot consumption lounge.
Green Thumb shares rose by 2.62 per cent Wednesday to $10.18 on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
