The British Columbia-based psychedelics company EntheoTech Bioscience has opened a 3,000-square-foot ketamine therapy clinic in Kelowna after outgrowing its previous space in the city.

EntheoTech announced the opening of the flagship location on Tuesday and plans to launch three more clinics in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary later this year.

The company will be establishing those locations under its EntheoMed brand, which provides intramuscular ketamine-assisted therapy with a team of medical experts and therapists.

“As always, ketamine treatments are supported with preparatory and integratory psychedelic-informed counseling sessions,” said Robbi Avelino, a Media Relations Representative for the company in an email to Mugglehead.

“Participants also receive lifetime access to our online resources library for their mental and emotional wellness to support long-term integration of insights gained from ketamine-assisted therapy,” added Avelino.

The person in charge of leading patient care at the clinic will be Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francois Louw. Louw is a founding member and physician at the Bill Nelems Pain & Research Centre, a pain management clinic also located in Kelowna.

“There is an urgent need for compassionate mental-health care that carefully balances new and traditional medicines in a safe setting, helping people recalibrate and change the trajectory of their lives,” said Louw.

“The clinic represents a significant milestone as it is the first medical clinic to blend psychedelics with therapy in the Okanagan,” said EntheoTech’s CEO Fraser Johnson in a statement on Tuesday.

“I am incredibly proud of the team of practitioners we have assembled and the positive impact they are making in the lives of our patients,” he added.

EntheoTech is also active with psilocybin research and says it holds over 200 exclusive psilocybin mushroom strains and procedures. The company has a Health Canada-approved supply of ketamine, psilocybin and MDMA as well which it aims to use for the treatment of pain and mental health conditions.

Other companies that have established psychedelic therapy clinics in B.C. include Numinus Wellness Inc. (TSX: NUMI) (OTCQX: NUMIF) and Field Trip Health & Wellness Ltd. (TSX-V: FTHW). SABI Mind will soon be opening a clinic in Victoria too.
