For 2026, organic growth is now forecast at 13 to 15 per cent after Eaton Corporation plc NYSEETN raised its outlook on Tuesday. The power-management equipment maker also lifted its adjusted earnings target to US$13.70 to US$13.80 a share. Its previous organic growth range was 11 to 13 per cent.
Third-quarter sales reached US$8.9 billion, up 28 per cent from the same period in 2025. Organic growth supplied most of that increase. Adjusted earnings rose 20 per cent to US$1.43 billion, while reported earnings per share were US$2.77.
Electrical orders grew faster than sales: the rolling twelve-month organic increase was 39 per cent in Electrical Americas and 51 per cent in Electrical Global. Combined electrical backlog at September's end was up 46 per cent from September 2025.
Eaton's NYSEETN shares closed at US$366.07, down 1.05 per cent, at 4 p.m. EST on Nov. 2 in New York, before the earnings release.
Electrical Americas generated third-quarter sales of US$4.2 billion and operating profit of US$1.2 billion. Its margin reached 29.8 per cent, an improvement of 230 basis points from the preceding quarter.
The year-over-year comparison was weaker: the Americas margin fell from 30.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2025. Eaton's earnings presentation puts the segment's September backlog at US$16 billion, up 33 per cent year over year.
Electrical Global's third-quarter organic sales grew 27 per cent, and its operating margin reached 21.1 per cent. Its September backlog increased 121 per cent year over year, while the combined electrical businesses had a rolling twelve-month book-to-bill ratio of 1.2.
“Record orders grew sequentially, backlog continued to expand, and we remain well-positioned to help customers deliver on their critical power infrastructure investments,” Eaton chief executive Paulo Ruiz said in Tuesday's release.
New Manufacturing Capacity Turns Into Output
Eaton's Tuesday presentation attributes the second-half Americas margin ramp to new capacity turning into output. Electrical-sector data-centre revenue rose approximately 65 per cent from the third quarter of 2025, while rolling twelve-month data-centre orders more than doubled.
A completed European expansion provides another measure of manufacturing capacity. On Oct. 1, Eaton announced an additional 5,000 square metres at its Schrems, Austria, factory, adding automated miniature circuit-breaker production and low-voltage systems assembly capacity.
The expansion took less than ten months to complete. Eaton's announcement did not quantify annual production or customer delivery lead times, so the added floor space does not establish how quickly orders will ship.
Peer Schneider Electric SE EPASU reported on Oct. 16 that third-quarter revenue grew 17 per cent organically. Its Energy Management business grew 19 per cent organically, with the company reporting strong growth from grid customers.

Eaton generated third-quarter operating cash flow of US$1.31 billion and free cash flow of US$1.03 billion. Its fourth-quarter outlook calls for segment margins of 25.4 to 25.8 per cent and adjusted earnings of US$4.05 to US$4.15 a share.
The next scheduled update is Eaton's results webcast at 11 a.m. EST on Nov. 3.
