Consumers will soon have a new way to add CBD into their beverages.
Aceso Hemp, which is owned by Dixie Brands Inc. (CSE:DIXI.U), recently launched a new product line that could significantly change the edibles market. Fizz Tabs, which are dissolvable and hemp-infused, give consumers a convenient way to add CBD into drinks. Rather than buying beverages with CBD already in them, consumers will now have the convenience of adding CBD as they want it.
There are three different types of Fizz Tabs that will be available for consumers that will not only add CBD but different flavors as well:
– Calm, which aims to reduce stress and utilizes the calming properties of lavender, grapefruit and passionflower.
– Soothe, with turmeric and bromelain is designed to treat aches and pains and can reduce general soreness as well.
– Wellness, which offers various vitamins and helps to stabilize mood with adding capsaicin, a chili pepper extract.
The Colorado-based company claims benefits last between four to six hours and the Fizz Tabs can be taken as desired, with each tab containing 10 mg of hemp extract per serving. It also states on its website the tabs contain no THC or psychoactive effects.
Low price attracts consumers
The Fizz Tabs offer the market’s first-ever do-it-yourself option for cannabis users to infuse beverages with CBD. The innovation took years to develop and could result in significant market share for the company. At a price of just US$22 per package, and with a box containing 20 tabs, the unit price of $1.10 offers affordability. The price point may attract consumers, but the product also offers a discreet way to add CBD into drinks. Fizz Tabs are expected to be available as early as June.

Edibles market set for take off
With the CBD market expected to surpass $20 billion in U.S. sales by 2024, the potential is too big for the Colorado-based cannabis company to not get into this space. And it’s why many companies are fighting for market share in this new, lucrative industry.
With the U.S. 2018 Farm Bill clearing the way for hemp-derived CBD topical products, and the U.S. FDA likely to pass regulations for CBD in food and drinks, there’s potential opportunity for the Fizz Tabs across the country. While Dixie Brands is currently setup in just five U.S. states, it has plans for significant expansion this year, in not only the U.S. but Canada and Latin America as well as it hopes to double its manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
In addition to significant opportunities for Aceso Hemp and Dixie Brands in the U.S., the Canadian market will open with edibles becoming legal in October. And north of the border the companies won’t be limited to hemp-derived CBD, giving it a chance to explore different types of edible products. These Fizz Tabs could uncover real growth for Dixie Brands and its subsidiary, and it could definitely be a company to watch moving forward.
