Blackbaud (NASDAQ:BLKB) has been named to Quartz’s ranking of the Best Companies for Remote Workers 2022.

Quartz Best Companies for Remote Workers is a global ranking that recognizes employers involved in setting the standard for distance, at-home or distributed work. The list is comprised of employer and employee surveys and put together by the Best Companies Group with advisory services offered by partner Doist. The survey is also optional and confidential.

“Companies at the vanguard of remote work helped show everyone else how to do it. Now we are seeing their best practices replicated across industries, at companies of all sizes. The companies on our ranking are putting their remote policies to use as a recruiting and retention play, as a tool for diversifying their talent pool, and as a performance strategy. Our second annual ranking honors businesses that have gone above and beyond in ensuring that their remote workers have the tools they need, from technology stipends to wellness perks, to do their jobs effectively,” said Heather Landy, Quartx executive editor.

Blackbaud is a software company involved in assisting institutions and individuals involved in promoting the common social good. These include nonprofits, higher education institutions, K-12 schools, healthcare organizations, faith communities as well as arts and cultural organizations, foundations, companies and individual change agents. How the company does this is through connecting and empowering organizations to boost their impact through using cloud software, services, expertise and data intelligence.

Blackbaud’s portfolio is involved in boosting the needs of vertical markets, offering solutions for fundraising and CRM, marketing, advocacy, peer-to-peer fundraising, corporate social responsibility, ESG and more. It has been at this for over four decades and is a remote-first company operating out of Charleston, South Carolina, but spread out to Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Blackbaud’s remote workplace culture focuses on:

  • Providing opportunities for people who want to work towards positive social good and putting them together with like-minded individuals and customers.
  • Producing a growth mindset, including the continuous ability to learn and develop through new challenges, opportunities, skill acquisition, regardless of geographic location.
  • Learning about and developing sensitivity for diverse perspectives and experiences so the company can adequately deliver all it can for its customers.
  • Offering support for employees personal and professional well-being, including the flexibility and resources people need to go after the experiences and resources that matter most to them.

“Blackbaud officially transitioned to a remote-first workforce approach in November 2021, so we are thrilled to receive this recognition ahead of our one-year mark. Together, with our customers, the work we do impacts millions of lives. That’s why we work so hard, and why it’s so important to us that our culture is one that promotes success for all,” said Margaret “Maggie” Driscoll, chief people and culture officer for Blackbaud.

Over the past year, Blackbaud has also been named one of America’s Most Responsible Companies by Newsweek, one of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers by Forbes, and one of America’s Best Employers by State by Forbes.
