SQDC launches pilot 90-minute cannabis delivery service

The new delivery service will only be available in five regions in Quebec

Quebecois will be able to receive their cannabis in less than two hours after the province’s exclusive cannabis retail enterprise launched its test phase service in certain regions of the province.

This week, the Société Québécoise du Cannabis announced the launch of the 90-minute delivery available in the Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches, Mauricie, Outaouais and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean regions.

The service will cost $9 and is available between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on weekdays and between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekends. A valid ID must be presented upon delivery, as the carrier must verify the identity and age of the person accepting the package.

It will be provided by the delivery company Eva which is a private local delivery and ride-share firm.

Other provinces such as British Columbia have also hired companies to offer same-day delivery services. BC Cannabis Stores in Metro Vancouver offer a fast delivery option via Fire & Flower Holdings Corp.  (TSX: FAF) (OTCQX: FFLWF)’s subsidiary Pineapple Express Delivery Inc. which delivers their pot within hours.
