A Houston brewery and cannabis company have now merged to create a new pot brand and the two parties claim the formation of that company marks the first partnership between a cannabis producer and an alcohol manufacturer in the U.S.
On Wednesday, Bayou City Hemp Company and 8th Wonder Brewery & Distillery announced the debut of 8th Wonder Cannabis, a new line of dispensaries and products.
The first 8th Wonder brick-and-mortar dispensary and consumption lounge will be located inside the 8th Wonder Distillery in Houston and will open on October 17. The new cannabis company plans to open additional locations throughout Texas in the years to come.

Each 8th Wonder Cannabis dispensary will carry an assortment of products such as pre-rolls, flower, gummies, vapes, water-soluble additives, seltzers and nano-shots. In addition to 8th Wonder Cannabis products, the company outposts will stock goods from brands such as Mixer Elixir, Third Coast Blends and Leaf Life Wellness.
“As stewards of the cannabis industry in Texas, Bayou City Hemp’s emphasis on innovation, quality and collaboration not only produces the best products, but helps normalize cannabis in a safe and trusted way,” said Ryan Soroka, president and co-founder of 8th Wonder Brewery & Distillery.
“We always say everything is bigger in Texas and bringing Bayou City together in a partnership with 8th Wonder seems to fit the narrative perfectly,” added Jeromy Sherman, chief business officer and co-founder of Bayou City Hemp.
“We are aligned in so many ways from the extensive measures we have put in place to self-regulate to the creativity and product innovation each team brings to the table.”
