4Front Ventures Corp. (CSE: FFNT) (OTCQX: FFNTF) has now chosen to engage itself in a benevolent endeavour next month through a collaboration with the Pink Gene Foundation.

On Thursday, the cannabis company announced that it would be taking part in the Pink Gene Campaign throughout October by donating US$1 to the non-profit from each one of its Pink Gene labeled products sold.

Those products can be found at 4Front’s Mission Dispensary locations and multiple retail outlets throughout California, Washington, Massachusetts and Illinois.

According to 4Front, funds raised through the Pink Gene Campaign will be utilized for research, education and helping young women determine if they are at a high risk of contracting breast cancer.

“Nearly all of us have been touched by breast cancer in some way, and this campaign is a means for our organization to help pay it forward,” said Leo Gontmakher, CEO of 4Front Ventures.

“We look forward to continuing to partner with like-minded organizations that are tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges and helping the communities we serve.”

The Pink Gene Foundation also happens to be an organization founded by 4Front’s chief of Staff, Tera Martin — a two-time cancer survivor.

“The mission of the Pink Gene Foundation is to raise funds for young women who are deemed high risk or are currently battling breast cancer,” said Tera Martin.

“The funds that our Pink Gene Campaign raises will help provide young women with critical resources such as genetic testing, therapies, and screenings that are not covered by insurance, but are critical to saving lives.”

Martin says that her personal battle with breast cancer was what inspired her advocacy efforts within the cannabis industry. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of women who suffer from the same disease she has.
