Threat-detection tech company Xtract One Technologies (TSX: XTRA)(OTCQX: XTRAF)(FRA: 0PL) partnered with the Wisconsin Center District (WCD) to implement its SmartGateway system at all the entrances of the Baird convention center.

The company said on Monday that the three year partnership is the company’s first with a convention center. WCD is advancing Baird Center’s expansion with a modern security approach. The WCD is presently spending USD$456 million to expand the Baird Center, which it intends to reveal in May 2024.

This deployment also reflects WCD’s primary focus on ensuring the safety, accessibility, and respectfulness of facility services for all visitors at their venues.

With the introduction of SmartGateway at Baird Center, patrons entering the convention center will experience a more discreet and less intrusive security process.

“From public safety and flexible meeting spaces to robust Wi-Fi, and sensational food and beverage options, the expanded Baird Center is dedicated to providing a second-to-none experience for our clients and guests.,” Marty Brooks, CEO of Wisconsin Center District, said.

Xtract One designed the SmartGateway to streamline the process of patron screening in high throughput venues. It provides a fast, reliable, and precise alternative to traditional metal detectors, ensuring enhanced security. By employing AI-powered sensors, this system discreetly scans individuals entering your facility for prohibited items such as guns and knives.

SmartGateway reduces labour by automating security tasks

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) added the technology to its 2023 approved product list over the summer after a series of rigorous testing by Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory.

The device reduces unnecessary labour by automating certain security tasks. This enables security services to focus their efforts where they are needed. The results of this optimization of resources are an improved customer experience and loyalty.

It particularly suits stadiums and ticketed venues that require efficient and secure entry for large crowds while adhering to established security standards.

During the testing process, the system underwent evaluations with various threat items and scenarios, highlighting its reliability and performance across a wide range of applications. Furthermore, technology vendors serving professional sports leagues must undergo stringent third-party validation as a mandatory requirement.
