Apple users in New Jersey and California can now order cannabis from select dispensaries owned by TerrAscend Corp. (CSE: TER) (OTCQX: TRSSF).
On Tuesday, the company said it’s become the first major American cannabis operator to launch mobile retail on the Apple App Store.
People can place orders for pickup at The Apothecarium dispensaries in Maplewood and Philipsburg, New Jersey, as well as delivery and pickup from the store’s Capitola location in California.
TerrAscend says it expects to expand availability across its U.S. footprint of Apothecarium stores in the coming weeks.
Among other features, the app includes a live chat function to help guide consumers, as well as digital payment.

“TerrAscend is a leader in leveraging technology to meet the needs of our customers,” executive chairman Jason Wild said in a statement.
“Our proprietary app allows customers to instantly connect with our Apothecarium dispensaries while providing more choice and convenience in a personalized, digital environment. This launch rounds out our omnichannel offering, with the app seamlessly integrated into our existing retail and web-based e-commerce experiences.”
The statement also notes that customer identification will be verified at “several stages” throughout the purchase and delivery process.
