Hip hop music icon Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., AKA Snoop Dogg, opened up his first-ever coffee shop in Amsterdam last week. He celebrated his next cannabis episode with the launch of a similar “Smoke Weed Every Day” store in downtown LA a couple weeks ago too.

The newest location in the Netherlands has a main floor dedicated to retail with Calvin’s hand-picked products and a basement level lounge for patrons to enjoy his chronic goods.

“It’s only right that I bring S.W.E.D. global to this iconic city that understands the joy of great cannabis and a good time,” he said in a press release regarding the Amsterdam marijuanaplex.

Snoop’s own brand, Death Row Records Cannabis, made its debut last year. It’s not his first cannabis venture though. He also has the joint enterprise pot line “D*gg lbs” with Atlas Global Brands.

In 2015 he created Leafs by Snoop, which offers eight different cultivars.

He loves cannabis so much that he pays someone about US$45,000 per year just to roll his blunts. In 2012 he claimed that he smoked an average of 81 every day, which is hard for the average man to fathom.

Death Row unveils limited edition 2pac collection

Following the new LA shop’s grand opening, Snoop’s cannabis brand released five new strains cultivated in memory of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur. The two hip hop artists shared a special bond working together at Death Row Records in the 1990s.

Shakur handed the Dogg Father his first-ever blunt. Many years later, he still cherishes that memory.

“That first blunt sparked a friendship that ran deep,” Snoop said. “We’ll always have his music, but this is another way I can bring what was meaningful to 2Pac to his fans.”

Broadus Jr. isn’t the first rapper to have a cannabis shop at the Los Angeles location. It was previously occupied by Cypress Hill’s B-Real, who ran the store front under the name Dr. Greenthumb’s.
