A group of spiritual cannabis-worshipping nuns in the Central Valley of California has now unveiled some new products that integrate the healing powers of raw cannabinoids.
On Wednesday, the Sisters of the Valley formally announced the release of their CBD Plus products. The new extract capsules and glass dropper vials will contain CBDa and CBGa, a pair of raw hemp medicinal compounds.
The group of women make all of their goods by hand and believe that synchronizing their production schedule with the moon is of great importance. The sisters will be one of few within the marketplace offering this type of product to the public.

Earlier this year, scientists in the state of Oregon revealed that they had discovered evidence indicating that raw cannabinoids derived from hemp plants had anti-infective properties — primarily CBDa and CBGa.
Since that time, the California Sisters have formed a partnership with a Colorado laboratory to help develop an extract product containing high levels of those raw compounds.
The Sisters say they knew based on past reports that raw cannabis had medicinal properties distinct from the cooked plant, but they just needed those Oregon scientists to undoubtedly prove it through their research back in February. Prior to that crucial development, the well-educated pot-loving nun group only offered products with primarily cooked cannabinoids.
“Although we aren’t doctors or scientists and can’t give medical advice, we see the CBD Plus products as a means of staying healthy and fighting disease, and we see the standard CBD gel caps as more focused on pain relief and healing,” said Sister Sophia.
“The medicine is new to most of us and all of us are different, so it requires experimentation, and we are fortunate that the plant is very safe to experiment with. It means that many suffering people can participate in this learning adventure,” she added.
The Sisters have created a short video to help clarify the origins of the new products to potential consumers and cannabis enthusiasts (see below).
