Rua Gold submits Auld Creek gold-antimony fast-track application
The New Zealand proposal seeks mine and infrastructure approvals, with a feasibility study targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Rua Gold Inc. TSERUA OTCMKTSNZAUF NZERGI, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, submitted a substantive fast-track application seeking approvals for an eight-year gold-antimony mine at Auld Creek in New Zealand, it said on Thursday. The explorer targets key project approvals by mid-2027, subject to acceptance of the application, regulatory review and a favourable decision.
Shares were unchanged at C$1.12 on the TSX at 4 p.m. EST on Nov. 4, according to Google Finance TSERUA. That closing price predates the announcement.
RUA is advancing a preliminary feasibility study alongside permitting, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. A development decision remains subject to technical and economic studies, necessary approvals, financing and a final investment decision, according to the release.
The New Zealand-focused exploration company says the application seeks approvals for the proposed underground mine and associated infrastructure under the Fast-track Approvals Act. Submission does not constitute project approval.
Completeness Review Comes Before Panel Assessment
The company says statutory checks for completeness and scope precede an independent expert panel's assessment. If the application meets those requirements, the panel would determine whether approvals should be granted and on what conditions.
The government's project summary records that the Minister for Infrastructure referred Auld Creek into the fast-track process on July 29. It describes a proposed mining permit lasting 30 years, distinct from the mine's proposed operating life.
The government summary lists the approvals sought, including resource consents, conservation concessions, wildlife approvals and a mining permit. The proposed development includes surface facilities, access tunnels, road upgrades and activities affecting waterways.
The account of the substantive submission comes from RUA's release; the substantive application itself was not read. The government page provides the project summary and referral documents.
"Our focus is now on supporting the assessment process and responding to requests for further information," vice-president Simon Delander said in the release.
RUA says supporting assessments address water quality, ecology, air quality, traffic, geochemistry and mine closure. Its permitting update says requests for more information, potential suspensions and appeals could affect the mid-2027 target.
Gold-Antimony Developers Advance Different Workstreams
Canagold Resources Ltd. TSECCM OTCMKTSCRCUF FRACANA is also evaluating gold-antimony mineralization. In its Nov. 3 release, it reported 4.62 metres grading 4.57 per cent antimony at New Polaris in British Columbia. The interval also averaged 37.7 grams per tonne gold; reported widths are core lengths, with true widths undetermined.

For Auld Creek, the next targeted technical milestone is the preliminary feasibility study in the fourth quarter of 2026, evaluating the proposed mining and processing approach and project economics. RUA's mid-2027 approvals target remains conditional on acceptance, assessment and a favourable decision.
