Ribbon Communications (NASDAQ: RBBN) announced that housing and community services provider Anglicare Sydney selected Ribbon’s Session Border Controller Software Edition Edge and Ribbon Session Border Controller 2000 to provide secure calling connectivity for its contact centre, offices and retirement facilities in New South Wales, Australia.
Ribbon’s offering simplifies connectivity deployment and eases the burden on security services for the company’s new communications environment. The implementation came as part of an enterprise-wide deployment of consolidated voice services.
“Having a modern, state of the art communications environment is a key part of our IT strategy that enables us to serve our customers, staff and volunteers more easily, consistently and comprehensively,” said Hamish Maple, IT enterprise architect, Anglicare Sydney.

Ribbon Communications optimizes healthcare communications
Ribbon Communications is a communications software, IP and optimal networking program provider for service providers, enterprises and critical infrastructure sectors. It not only sells the platforms and software but assists with implementation, helping to modernize and improve their competitive positioning.
The calling environment Anglicare used before was complex, involving call centre resources and multiple different communication technologies. The company needed to centralize voice services and consolidate the technologies used for twenty-four major sites and its call centre. The site by site deployment allowed for interoperability between old and new systems, while keeping organizations operational at all times.
“We are delighted to be able to play a part in helping Anglicare modernise its communications infrastructure and be a part of a highly secure and reliable communications system to connect residents, family members, staff and Anglicare’s support teams,” said Manny Christophidis, channels director, Asia Pacific, Ribbon Communications.
The planned migration to Microsoft Teams for corporate services is being provided by SwitchConnect. SwitchConnect’s specialty is complex deployments of voice services with clients managing a complicated combination of legacy technologies, and more cloud and unified communication technologies.
