As of next week, BC Cannabis Stores customers in Metro Vancouver will have a faster delivery option than waiting for a shipment from Canada Post.

On Thursday, cannabis retailer Fire & Flower Holdings Corp.  (TSX: FAF) (OTCQX: FFLWF) said its subsidiary Pineapple Express Delivery Inc. will start to offer next-day delivery starting Monday.

The partnership comes after Pineapple Express won a request-for-proposal process with the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch.

“The scale of Pineapple Express is unmatched across Canada and through efficiencies of this magnitude, we are able to offer delivery services at an extremely cost-effective and rapid manner,” Pineapple Express president Randy Rolph said in a statement.

Pineapple Express is one of the largest weed delivery companies in Canada, and has offered same-day 60-minute delivery services across the country. Since cannabis legalization in 2018, it’s been providing its services to the adult-use industry via its patented CannDeliv technology.

Company stock rose 1 per cent Thursday to $4.93 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
