NevGold Corp (CVE: NAU) (OTCMKTS: NAUFF) (FRA: 5E50) has reported further encouraging antimony metallurgical test results from its Limousine Butte Project in Nevada, a region famous for mining activity.
Announced on Tuesday, the tests show that the project’s antimony (Sb) recovers efficiently across a range of grades from 0.1 per cent to 8.5 per cent. Further, these recoveries have minimal effect on gold extraction, showing the project’s strong geo-metallurgical potential.
The company is further looking into acid leaching as its preferred metallurgical method. In addition, this approach could allow antimony to be processed on site without relying on third party smelters or refineries.
In many ways, the antimony leaching process resembles the Solvent Extraction-Electrowinning (SX/EW) methods used in oxide copper operations. Furthermore, NevGold believes this method could integrate efficiently with gold production, allowing a potential combined gold antimony mining scenario without reducing yields.
Positive phase II antimony acid leaching results on antimony grades ranging from 0.1 per cent Sb to 8.5 per cent antimony including:
- 0.13 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 85 per cent recovery
- 0.17 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 71 per cent recovery
- 0.59 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 66 per cent recovery
- 2.09 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 71 per cent recovery
- 4.67 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 92 per cent recovery
- 8.41 per cent Sb sample discovered up to 75 per cent recovery
The company has completed a detailed evaluation of historical data and past drill results.

NevGold is building towards mineral resource estimate
The ongoing drill program has already completed 13 holes, targeting gold antimony mineralization with the goal of moving Limousine Butte toward a gold antimony mineral resource estimate (MRE).
“The results from the 0.1 per cent 0.2 per cent antimony grade range had recovery of 71 per cent to 85 per cent exceeding our expectations and demonstrating the strong geo-metallurgical characteristics for both antimony and gold at the Project,” said Brandon Bonifacio, NevGold CEO.
“With the additional Phase II metallurgical testwork completed, we have a large dataset with a wide range of antimony grades, which significantly de-risks the metallurgy and further unlocks the gold antimony potential at Limo Butte.”
Looking ahead, NevGold will continue its 2025 exploration program. This includes trench sampling of crushed and Run of Mine (ROM) leach pads from the historic Golden Butte pit, which produced over 100,000 ounces of gold between 1989 and 1990. The samples will also help determine current gold antimony mineralization. Meanwhile, the company is building toward its initial gold antimony MRE.
NevGold’s work displays Nevada’s appeal as a mining jurisdiction and shows the potential to combine gold and antimony production efficiently. The company’s strategy also aims to unlock substantial value by using metallurgical innovations and historical data to maximize recoveries.
