Tilray Brands, Inc. (Nasdaq: TLRY; TSX: TLRY) has been expanding its international presence over the last years and recently, the Luxembourg government visited its facility in Portugal.

On Wednesday, the cannabis company said it welcomed the Luxembourg Ministry of Health Delegation to the company’s European campus and facility located in Cantanhede, Portugal.

Tilray’s facility is EU-GMP-certified for medical cannabis cultivation and manufacturing and provides patients in Luxembourg and across Europe with safe and reliable access to high-quality medical cannabis.

Last November, supply issues were causing a shortage of medical pot, according to the country’s top health official.

In response to a parliamentary question, Health Minister Paulette Lenert said that by mid-month, the country had gone through two-thirds of the 13.5-kilogram medical pot shipment it received from Tilray the previous month.

Company stock went down Wednesday by 1.83 per cent to USD$0.06 on the Nasdaq Exchange.

“We are honoured to host the Luxembourg Ministry of Health Delegation at our state-of-the-art cannabis facility in Cantanhede, Portugal,” Tilray’s managing director in Europe Sascha Mielcarek, said.

“Demand for cannabis legalization in Europe is growing rapidly and we are incredibly proud to serve the patients in Luxembourg and around the world with the high-quality medical cannabis products they rely on and in the formats they prefer.”

Tilray is one of the first companies to become an approved licensed producer of medical cannabis in Canada to build one of the first GMP-certified cannabis production facilities in Europe, first in Portugal and later in Germany.

Its Tilray Medical is one of the biggest suppliers of medical cannabis brands in 20 countries and across five continents. The medical division includes Tilray Medical Canada, Tilray Medical Australia, Tilray Medical Australia-New Zealand and Tilray Medical Europe.
