Liberty Gold Corp. (TSE: LGD) (OTCMKTS: LGDTF) has reached another permitting milestone at its Black Pine Oxide Gold Project in Idaho after submitting a preliminary cyanidation design report to state regulators for early technical review.
According to a Wednesday press release, the company delivered the report to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality as part of the state’s permitting process. The submission outlines early designs for the proposed process plant, heap leach facility and groundwater monitoring program. Liberty Gold plans to file its formal cyanidation permit application during the first quarter of 2027.
Additionally, the company continues advancing Black Pine through feasibility work, environmental review and coordinated federal and state permitting. Federal agencies are overseeing the environmental review under the FAST-41 program, which aims to improve coordination for major infrastructure and resource projects.
The preliminary report gives state regulators an opportunity to review the project’s technical plans before Liberty Gold submits its full permit application. Company officials said the approach should help identify any issues earlier in the review process.
The report describes how the proposed cyanidation facility would operate. It includes plans for the heap leach facility, processing plant, water management systems, containment measures, groundwater monitoring, operational practices and eventual site reclamation and closure.
However, Liberty Gold emphasized that the report does not represent a permit application or regulatory approval. State officials must still review future submissions before making permitting decisions.
The company also submitted a monitoring well plan that proposes groundwater monitoring locations, installation methods, survey requirements and reporting commitments. Regulators will review and approve the final monitoring program before it takes effect.

Liberty Gold’s commitment to the Cyanide Code reflects focus
Subsequently, Liberty Gold intends to submit a complete cyanidation permit package that incorporates feedback from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. The company continues working with state and federal agencies as engineering and environmental studies move forward.
Liberty Gold also joined the International Cyanide Management Institute and became a signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code. The voluntary program promotes responsible cyanide management throughout gold and silver mining operations, including transportation, storage, handling, worker safety, emergency response and mine closure.
Furthermore, the company plans to seek a pre-operational design certification through the institute after filing its formal cyanidation permit application. It would then pursue operational certification within three years after mining and heap leaching begin at Black Pine.
Vice-president of permitting and external affairs Matt Zietlow said the submission provides Idaho regulators with detailed technical information to begin reviewing the project before the formal application arrives. He also said the company’s commitment to the Cyanide Code reflects its focus on responsible planning.
Meanwhile, Liberty Gold continues feasibility level engineering and execution planning alongside the permitting process. The company remains on track to complete the project’s feasibility study during the fourth quarter of 2026.
The company also continues coordinating with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and other regulatory agencies. Those efforts support the permitting schedule established through the federal FAST-41 process as Black Pine advances toward potential development.
