Leading cannabis retailer High Tide Inc. (Nasdaq: HITI) (TSXV: HITI) (FSE: 2LYA) has launched a paid membership program that will allow its customers access to exclusive sales, limited edition products, discounts on delivery and accessories.

The company announced the Cabana Elite program on Tuesday and customers can now sign up in-store or online. The membership is optional for Cabana Club members but the expansion of the program is expected to attract new customers and instill customer loyalty.

The inauguratory price per month will be $2.50 which is a 50 per cent discount from the normal price of $5 per month. Its Cabana Club membership will be the same and free of charge. It currently has over 860,000 members signed up.

Discounts, benefits and promotions will be regularly added to the program.

“Once our customers see what ELITE has to offer, we anticipate they will look to maintain their status in subsequent years,” High Tide CEO Raj Grover said, adding that launching ELITE was not an easy task, given the varied regulatory landscape in the Canadian provinces where High Tide operates.

He also explained this is a big step towards building loyalty programs into a global cannabis community as they convert price-conscious consumers from the illicit market to the legal market. High Tide’s goal is to sign up as many Cabana Club members to Elite as possible within the first year which the company anticipates will have an even greater financial impact in subsequent years.

“By leveraging the strengths of our diversified cannabis ecosystem, we are providing additional value to ELITE members by offering discounts on High Tide’s global online consumption accessories platforms,” High Tide CEO Raj Grover said.

“Our team has been working hard on this project for many months, and I want to take this opportunity to extend my sincere gratitude to our team members and provincial regulators, who helped us get to this pivotal day.”

“We are confident ELITE will generate excellent returns for our shareholders, who can rely on High Tide for continued innovation and execution,” added Grover.
