Vancouver’s junior explorer CopAur Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: CPAU) (OTCQX: COPAF) reported the best drill result to date from its flagship Nevada project on Friday and says it is now in possession of one of the state’s premier gold projects.
The company intercepted 15.3 g/t gold over 32 metres, including 10.7 metres grading at 24.1 g/t Au. The Kinsley Mountain gold project, containing Carlin-type sulphide gold, resides in Elko County.
“Once again the Western Flank zone has yielded exceptionally high-grade gold values over significant widths. We look forward to exploring the zone where it remains open along three corridors to the north, west and east,” said Jeremy Yaseniuk, CopAur’s CEO.
“The results announced today place Kinsley Mountain among the premier resource-stage gold projects in Nevada,” he added.
CopAur reported a high-grade intercept from Kinsley Mountain’s first diamond drill hole since 2020 at the end of September as well. The company intercepted 12.6 g/t over 20.3 metres with a 4.7 metre interval containing 29.4 g/t gold.
Nevada Sunrise Metals Corp. (TSX-V: NEV) (OTC: NVSGF) has a 19 per cent stake in the project through a joint venture with CopAur.
In addition to the Kinsley Mountain and two other Nevada sites, CopAur Minerals is also focused on its Williams gold-copper project in northern British Columbia. The company operates within close proximity to Thesis Gold Inc. (TSX-V: TAU) (OTCQX: THSGF).

Nevada is the world’s best mining jurisdiction
Nevada is a prime gold mining jurisdiction in particular. Many junior explorers and mid-tier producers have invested significant sums of money in the state.
Calibre Mining (TSX: CXB) (OTCQX: CXBMF) is a company with a major open-pit heap leach operation in east-central Nevada: the Pan gold mine. The gold miner budgeted $9 million for its exploration and development work in the state this year.
High-grade drill results over significant lengths from Pan’s Palomino target reported by Calibre in July left analysts from the financial firm Haywood Securities “gobsmacked” at the consistency of gold mineralization.
The state is known for hosting rich Carlin-style gold deposits containing an abundance of microscopic gold particles. They are among the highest-grade mineral resources in the world.
The junior explorer West Vault Mining Inc. (TSX-V: WVM) (OTCQX: WVMDF) has also invested a substantial amount of money in its flagship Nevada operation. The Hasbrouck gold project in the state’s Walker Lane gold trend is located in reasonably close proximity to the operations of prominent mining companies active in Nevada like Newmont Corporation (NYSE: NEM) (TSX: NGT) and Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX: K) (NYSE: KGC).
Nevada is responsible for approximately 75 per cent of the gold produced in the United States. The state produces over 20 different metals and minerals required for a broad range of different applications.
