Australia’s International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) will be celebrating one decade since its first event was held this Tuesday and it will have a series of new features for attendees to check out.
This year, a Mining Pavilion featuring a Mining and Investment Hub with over 120 junior and mid-tier mining companies showcasing their businesses will make its debut at the conference. The pavilion has a Networking Café and a Delegate Lounge set up by BHP Group Ltd (NYSE: BHP).
The event will run between Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at Sydney’s International Convention Centre. Tuesday will feature a presentation on applications of artificial intelligence in the mining industry and various other segments; Wednesday will feature the Ontario Mining Equipment, Technology and Services Showcase; and a series of presentations on investment opportunities throughout the globe will be held Thursday.
Other attractions this year will include the invite-only Australia Energy Transition Community Roundtable hosted by the World Economic Forum, a documentary screening presented by the World Gold Council and an Exploration and Space Information Session regarding the potential for mineral exploration on other planets.
“This partnership is a step forward for humanity, and it means that we will have better tools at our disposal for exploring resources, whether on our planet or in space,” said Jonathan Stock, Host of the session.
Over 8,000 have registered for this year’s event, including over 700 investors and 450 companies from 109 countries. Founding partners of the conference include the Victorian State Government and the Government of New South Wales.
Speakers this year include Mark Cutifani, Chairman of Vale SA (NYSE: VALE); Mark Norwell, CEO of Perenti (ASX: PRN); Rohitesh Dhawan, President of the International Council on Mining and Metals and around 500 others. Topics discussed will include mining electrification, critical minerals opportunities, uses for drones and robotics and various other subjects relevant to the energy transition.

IMARC: Australia’s top mining event, government-sponsored
As part of the event, the IMARC will be unveiling winners from the Global Innovation Games competition created by the startup networking hub Unearthed in which competitors submit their ideas for innovative mining technology. Five winners will be selected and will have the opportunity to meet with potential investors and others at a formal gathering during the conference.
Canadian companies in attendance this year will include Agnico Eagle Mines (NYSE: AEM) (TSX: AEM), Azimut Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: AZM) (OTCQX: AZMTF), Canadian North Resources Inc. (TSX-V: CNRI), Green Battery Minerals Inc (TSX-V: GEM) (OTC: GBMIF) and Vision Lithium Inc. (TSX-V: VLI) (OTCQB: ABEPF).
The event will conclude with a Gala Dinner on Thursday evening featuring a silent auction and live entertainment from The Carly Champion Band.
