BTC Digital Ltd. (NASDAQ: BTCT) has completed construction of a 10 megawatt cryptocurrency computing facility in Georgia.
The company said on Monday that it expects the site to become ready for mining machine deployment within approximately two months. Once ready, BTC Digital plans to begin installing equipment and start digital asset mining operations.
The facility could eventually support approximately 900 petahashes per second of theoretical computing capacity. That equals 900,000 terahashes per second, a measurement used to describe the processing power of cryptocurrency mining equipment.
However, the company has not yet installed enough mining machines to reach that figure. The 900 petahashes figure instead represents potential capacity under BTC Digital’s planned configuration of high efficiency machines.
Construction completion moves the Georgia project into its pre-deployment stage. Additionally, the company must complete power interconnection and other preparations before it can begin installing mining equipment.
BTC Digital plans to introduce machines gradually once the site reaches deployment readiness. Consequently, management has not committed to immediately operating the facility at its maximum theoretical capacity.
The company expects several factors to determine how quickly it adds equipment. These include the pace of energisation, available mining machine models, energy efficiency, cryptocurrency prices and overall market conditions.
Network difficulty will also influence how much computing capacity BTC Digital ultimately deploys. Bitcoin’s network automatically adjusts mining difficulty as miners add or remove computing power.
Meanwhile, the Georgia facility could expand BTC Digital’s self controlled cryptocurrency mining operations in the United States. Management will control how much equipment it installs as operating conditions change.

The project also supports the company’s broader push beyond cryptocurrency mining. BTC Digital has adopted a dual engine strategy putting together digital asset computing with artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
Additionally, management believes several skills developed for cryptocurrency mining can transfer into AI computing. Those capabilities include securing electricity, building data centres and deploying large amounts of power intensive computing equipment.
The Georgia project could therefore provide operational experience that BTC Digital can apply to future AI infrastructure projects. Furthermore, the company can use its experience managing high density computing equipment across both business areas.
BTC Digital has not revealed how much cryptocurrency the Georgia site could produce once operations begin. The company also did not provide estimates for revenue, mining equipment costs or profitability for the facility.
Consequently, the project’s financial contribution will depend heavily on the amount and type of equipment eventually deployed. Cryptocurrency prices, electricity costs and mining difficulty will further influence its economics after operations begin.
Investors can next watch whether BTC Digital reaches deployment readiness within its approximately two month target. Subsequent updates could provide details about installed machines, actual computing capacity and the pace of the mining rollout.
The company may also provide further information about its planned expansion into AI and high-performance computing services.
