“Smart Collar” creator Queva has extended its puppy device’s capabilities into the sleep technology realm.

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Canadian canine tech startup unveiled a new sleep tracking feature on its doggy gadget. It monitors sleep quality, duration and consistency along with movement patterns a dog may exhibit throughout the night.

“Dogs can’t tell us when something feels off, but their sleep often does,” said founder and CEO, Jacob Calderon, at the event.

Data points provided by the collar are presented through user-friendly charts in the companion app, helping owners spot trends or deviations that might signal emerging health concerns. By analyzing long-term changes in sleep behaviour alongside the collar’s other capabilities, like activity tracking and early anomaly detection, Queva aims to empower pet owners with proactive, preventive care.

“Tools like Queva’s Sleep Tracking help pet owners notice those changes earlier and have more informed conversations with their veterinarian,” stated Queva Veterinary Advisor Alex Morgan.

The collar uses advanced sensors and AI to track key health and behaviour metrics in real time, including activity levels, stress indicators, barking detection, daytime movement anomalies and early signs of health issues.

Queva claims it has up to 99.2 per cent accuracy in early detection of health concerns. The pet tech company has partnered with veterinarians for data-backed preventive care.

Its doggo-device captured attention at CES 2025 and returned at CES 2026 with new AI-driven sleep tracking capabilities.

In 2023, Queva was featured on a list of 500 promising tech startups put together by emerging companies and entrepreneurship media platform FoundersPress.

Queva’s pooch sleep tracking device was not the only man’s best friend-themed technology to draw eyes at CES 2026. The event also featured a robotic AI dog companion for people with neurological disorders and a quadruped robotic hound delivering drinks and snacks to attendees.

The annual Consumer Electronics Show is the world’s largest proving ground for breakthrough consumer electronics, AI, robotics, smart devices and emerging innovations. It is an event where major brands and startups unveil cutting-edge products and trends shaping the future.
