A global X-ray technology provider has launched a company division dedicated to cannabis that will be unveiling its flagship product at MJBizCon in Las Vegas this November.

On Wednesday, VJ Group announced the launch of its VJ Scientific cannabis division. The new branch of the company will be responsible for engineering and manufacturing high-grade X-ray products and its CX-1000 cannabis decontamination machine will be unveiled at the aforementioned conference in Nevada this fall.

The company says that 10-15 per cent of cannabis flower in the United States fails yeast and mold testing which can result in a variety of problems for producers including fines, product disposal, damage to their reputation and even litigation. Various states in the U.S. require companies to pass certain quality tests before releasing their bud into the market.

Therefore, VJ Scientific says the CX-1000 machine can help cultivators prevent all of those issues and save them millions of dollars.

“The CX-1000 outperforms all other cannabis cleaning systems currently available with its 99.9 per cent effectiveness, revolutionary technology, innovative design and seamless user experience,” said Mark Clemons, general manager of VJ Scientific.

VJ says irradiation of cannabis is safe and effective and that the machine will rid plants of unwanted mold and microbes with 99.9 per cent efficacy.

The company claims the CX-1000 has multiple competitive advantages such as minimal required operator intervention, proprietary dual-sided irradiation design capable of precision X-ray dosing from any angle and for any density and the ability to process cannabis in any type of container within the machine.

“We worked directly with major cannabis cultivators to develop technology to solve the specific challenges they face,” said Don Naugler, director of technology for VJ Scientific.

“Meeting with growers, distributors, researchers as well as decontamination experts in the food industry helps us create solutions tailored to the cannabis industry’s unique needs.”
