Trigg Minerals discovers exceptional antimony mineralization at Utah mine site

The latest samples yielded up to 29.4% antimony

The latest antimony samples dug up by Trigg Minerals Ltd (ASX: TMG) (OTCMKTS: TMGLF) (FRA: ATA) are head-turners.

On Tuesday, the Australian mining company announced that rock chip and channel sampling at Utah’s Antimony Canyon Project yielded grades as high as 29.4 per cent. That bonanza-grade find came from the property’s “Little Emma” zone alongside newly assayed samples yielding 25.2 per cent antimony (Sb) and 17.9 per cent Sb in other areas.

Samples of the metalloid in that range are widely considered to be excellent in the industry.

Additionally, Trigg revealed that it has extended the known mineralization at the project 1 kilometre north through the discovery of samples with considerable antimony content. Results in the northern extension zone ranged between 2.18 per cent Sb to 3.6 per cent Sb on the high end, which is viewed as economic-grade for development considering the current market dynamics.

“While the ‘bonanza grades’ at the Little Emma, Gem, Pluto and Star Mines are spectacular and confirm the high-grade nature of our core asset, the discovery of high-grade mineralization a full kilometre to the north is a game-changer,” stated Managing Director Andre Booyzen in Trigg’s ASX announcement.

The last time Trigg announced sampling results of this significance at the project was in August when the junior reported channel samples with up to 33.2 per cent Sb.

Antimony Canyon is not a greenfield operation. It is one of several sites that contributed shipments of the element to the Allies during the Second World War that were needed for ammunition, flame retardants, detonators and other items. Small-scale mining in the area dates back to the late 1800s.

Booyzen meets with U.S. government officials

Trigg aims to appeal to American federal agencies and secure funding for its Utah project as the domestic antimony shortage persists, the need for national production escalates and the commodity’s price remains elevated.

Last week, Trigg’s managing director met with representatives from the Department of War and Department of Energy to consider development pathways for the company’s critical mineral sites in the country. In addition to Antimony Canyon, the junior explorer is pursuing tungsten at the Tennessee Mountain and Nightingale prospects in Nevada.

Nevada is also one of the nation’s top antimony exploration states. This has been evidenced by considerable mineralization discovered by NevGold Corp (CVE: NAU) (OTCMKTS: NAUFF) (FRA: 5E50), Global Tactical Metals Corp (CNSX: MONI)(FRA: A7F) and other juniors.

“With new federal funding initiatives designed to strengthen domestic mining, processing, and supply chains, these meetings are an important step in progressing Trigg’s projects within the United States and aligning with national priorities around energy and economic security,” Trigg stated on social media.

Perpetua Resources Corp (TSE: PPTA) (NASDAQ: PPTA), United States Antimony Corp (NYSEAMERICAN: UAMY) and Nova Minerals Ltd (OTCMKTS: NVAAF) (FRA: QM3) (ASX: NVA) are U.S. companies that have successfully procured millions from the government in recent months for development of strategic mining projects and antimony supply agreements.

Trigg presents in Utah State Legislature

The company delivered a presentation about the Antimony Canyon Project (ACP) to local officials this month prior to meeting with representatives of the Washington agencies.

“The invitation marks our growing relationship with Utah’s government bodies after recent meetings with Utah State Senators and Utah Governor Spencer Cox,” the company explained.

“Key government officials and representatives have also requested a site visit to ACP, which we will be arranging very shortly.”

Booyzen says local legislators have taken a keen interest in the project because of economic and social benefits it would provide for Garfield County and its residents. Employment opportunities the site would offer was one of the key topics.
