The Sandbox metaverse has partnered with cloud-based communications software company Agora to bring real-time social interaction to the metaverse.

The collaboration will give players in The Sandbox the opportunity to communicate using voice, video and chat.

The company offers a comprehensive suite of products that effortlessly combine 3D Spatial Audio, persistent text chat, and interactive live-streaming capabilities, all designed to be scalable. The Sandbox intends to utilize these features to nurture strong social connections among its players.

Combining elements of virtual real estate and an amusement park, The Sandbox fully embraces the concept of the metaverse, where various worlds and iconic characters come together to create a magical digital realm.

The Sandbox already has over 400 of high-rent residents, including big names like Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Tony Hawk, The Walking Dead and Snoop Dogg, The Sandbox is dedicated to realizing its vision of empowering players to craft their unique experiences using both original content and beloved characters and settings.

The global metaverse market estimated at USD$65.5B

The metaverse is a vast, interconnected virtual space where people can create, explore, socialize and conduct business, blurring the lines between the physical and digital worlds.

At its core, the metaverse relies on a complex ecosystem of technologies like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), blockchain, cloud computing, and advanced AI. These technologies enable immersive and interactive experiences, allowing users to seamlessly navigate between various digital environments, communicate with others in real-time, and even build their unique virtual identities and assets.

As of 2022, the global metaverse market was estimated to be worth USD$65.5 billion, according to marketing firm Statista. Projections for 2023 anticipate its growth to USD$82 billion with a significant surge expected to reach $936.6 billion USD by 2030. Often hailed as the next evolution of the internet, the metaverse serves as the convergence point for the physical and digital realms.

Three companies operating in the metaverse include Meta Labs (NASDAQ: META) (formerly Facebook). Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX) Axie Infinity and Decentraland.
