REMSpace completes seed funding round for lucid dreaming tech distribution

“Technology will inevitably conquer the dream world,” the company said after pooling C$1.4 million from investors

A California neurotechnology startup has raised nearly C$1.4 million in seed funding for development of its novel lucid dream promoting products.

REMSpace, founded by sleep researcher Michael Raduga, announced the achievement last week. He says the new cash stream came from lucid dreaming practitioners and others interested in it throughout Europe.

It will propel the production and distribution of the company’s LucidMe smart sleep mask, dietary supplements used to promote conscious dreaming and new tech. The mask and pills can assist with falling asleep, reducing snoring, meditation and one’s ability to recall what they were dreaming about as well — REMSpace claims.

Raduga believes humanity is only beginning to tap into the benefits that it can offer. He has written 15 books on sleep topics and published several studies on those topics in peer-reviewed journals. He was even willing to undergo surgery last year, receiving a brain implant to enhance his knowledge of REM sleep and lucid dreaming.

“Lucid dreaming is a door to our subconscious mind and can help unlock our hidden resources, such as creativity and ingenuity,” Raduga said. “We want to make lucid dreaming accessible to everyone.”

REMSpace hires arsenal of engineers

Raduga has hired 15 new employees, 10 of which are engineers. The other five will provide support in other ways, which have not been specified.

This niche of the broader “sleep economy” remains relatively unexplored. Smart sleep masks are not uncommon, but they are often used for other purposes like collecting sleep data, massage, heat and light wave therapy, or just promoting improved rest.

REMSpace is not the only one though. Prophetic, an American startup that recently developed the “Halo” device to promote lucid dreaming, is another. This company was recognized for its innovation last week.

A Netherlands sleep tech company, Lucid Dreamer, created an electrode device that gets strapped to a person’s head at night to promote dream awareness a few years ago too. Lucid Dreamer has a dietary supplement line like REMSpace.
