This year’s Nevada Mining Association convention will embrace industry innovation made possible with the help of emerging technologies. A breakout session titled “Artificial Intelligence 101 — Understanding What it is and Why it Matters” will be a key feature. Many mining companies have been streamlining their operations with the help of AI.
The esteemed annual event is sold out this time around with a waiting list for those who want tickets adding names since late August. Precious metals and critical minerals mined in the state are hotter topics than ever at the moment.
It will be held from Sept. 5 to 8 at the Bally’s Lake Tahoe hotel and casino. “Nevada Mining: Our Story. The Future” is the 2025 theme.
The convention features an expo for investors, equipment suppliers and influential companies. It will also include a series of networking opportunities, a golf tournament and an array of presentations on pertinent topics.
Aside from the AI presentation by Reno local and Commence Studio founder Matthew McIver, mining industry leaders will be talking about the future of the state’s industry. A “Looking Ahead” workshop will be led by Nevada Division of Minerals Administrator Robert Ghiglieri; I-80 Gold Corp (TSE: IAU) (NYSEAMERICAN: IAUX) (FRA: 8JI) CFO Ryan Snow; KGHM Polska Miedz SA‘s (OTCMKTS: KGHPF) (FRA: KGHA) Robinson Mine manager, Neil Jensen; and Kinross Gold Corp (TSE: K) (NYSE: KGC) (FRA: KIN2) Vice President Joseph Kemp.
Also worthy of note is the State of the Nevada Mining Industry presentation. Jeremy Aguero, a principal analyst at Applied Analysis, will be responsible for delivering it.
“Media’s Role in a Changing World” will be discussed by a group of Nevada reporters as well. Reporting on the mining industry and its broader impact on the global economy is of great importance.
Amy Alonzo from the Nevada Independent, KTVN 2 News Nevada Anchor Arianna Bennett, Elko Daily Free Press editor Keith Kohn and Vegas PBS host Amber Renee Dixon will be leading that breakout session.
“This event is more than just a beautiful setting,” said Epiroc AB Class A (OTCMKTS: EPIAF) (FRA: 3AD1) in a social media post.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to connect with industry leaders and decision-makers; attend sessions on innovation, sustainability, and workforce development; network with peers, partners, and new faces from across the industry; and of course, enjoy a few lakeside views while you’re at it!”
Epiroc currently operates an advanced mining service centre in Elko, Nevada. It opened its doors in late 2023.
Fire safety in the mining industry and trends with grease lubrication for mining equipment are a couple of other topics being covered at this week’s convention.
