MariMed supports Veteran housing struggles with ‘Help on the Homefront’ initiative

The cannabis cultivator will be providing US$5,000 grants to vets in states where it operates

Massachusetts-based cannabis cultivator MariMed Inc (OTCMKTS: MRMD) (CNSX: MRMD) has launched an initiative to support American veterans as they try to find good housing options amid soaring inflation.

The company’s InHouse flower, edible and vape line is responsible for the “Help on the Homefront” campaign announced this Halloween. It will commence on Nov. 1 by accepting online applications here.

InHouse will be providing one veteran with a US$5,000 grant in each of the states in which it operates.

“Help on the Homefront was created to recognize the many sacrifices that veterans have made on behalf of our country and offer meaningful financial relief to those facing housing-related difficulties,” InHouse Brand Director, Olya Key, said in a press release.

In addition to InHouse, MariMed distributes its merchandise through the Betty’s Eddies fruit chews brand, the Bubby’s Baked brownie and baked goods line and the “K Fusion” cannabinoid-infused tablets brand. Also, “Vibations” THC-saturated drink mixers and Nature’s Heritage cultivars.

MariMed kicks off operations in Missouri and Illinois

On Wednesday, the multi-state operator revealed that it would soon be active in the state of Missouri.

“We expect to start sales and distribution by the end of November,” Chief Revenue Officer, Ryan Crandall, said.

Earlier this month, MariMed announced that it had begun cultivation operations at its new facility in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Its inaugural harvest will take place early next year.

“Illinois is a fantastic adult-use market,” chief executive Jon Levine said.

Nature’s Heritage celebrates music

On Oct. 1, the marijuana grower launched its “Amplify Your Experience” campaign. This initiative, being completed by the company’s Nature’s Heritage brand, will enable select musicians to perform at MariMed’s pop-up events and dispensaries.

“Amplify Your Experience celebrates the deep relationship of music and cannabis while providing a platform for local musicians to showcase their talent within the supportive and expressive cannabis community,” Nature’s Heritage representative Tami Kirlis said.

In Q2 results, MariMed reported an 11 per cent increase in revenue year-over-year to US$40.4 million. However, the cultivator also reported a 71 per increase in net losses compared to Q2, 2023 at US$1.6 million.

Over 440,000 people are employed full-time in the American cannabis industry with operators like MariMed.
