Grown Rogue kicks off New Jersey sales after getting cultivation facility up and running

The Oregon-based grower has over 15 cultivars, including Grease Monkey, Duct Tape and ‘Cheetah Piss’

Oregon’s high-grade flower specialist Grown Rogue International Inc (CNSX: GRIN) (OTCMKTS: GRUSF) is now selling buds from its diverse cultivar lineup to New Jersey smokers.

The cultivator announced that it has commenced sales in the state on Tuesday. The first order was shipped to the local dispensary Brotherly Bud NJ.

“Damn, I wish I still lived in New Jersey,” one social media user commented.

Grown Rogue is currently capable of producing up to 600 pounds of flower per month at its newly established cultivation facility in the state. The marijuana grower aims to up that number to 1,000 once additional construction is completed next year.

“Our first few harvests [in New Jersey] are exceeding our expectations for both yield and quality as we ramp operations,” chief executive, Obie Strickler, said in a news release. “We have eighths and quarters in the market currently and plan to introduce pre-rolls in Q1 2025.”

Grown Rogue claims that dozens of dispensaries are waiting to line their shelves with its strains.

The company’s history began over 15 years ago with medical cannabis cultivation in south Oregon’s Rogue Valley. The “Beaver State” of Oregon didn’t legalize adult-use weed until 2014.

Grown Rogue wins Best Brand award in Michigan

The flower connoisseur was recently recognized by Leafly’s Budtenders Choice Awards this year for its quality buds.

“Our team has been grinding and it’s great to see it being recognized,” sales director Nolan Snyder said in November. “Knowing our hard work and passion is resonating with the Michigan market means everything.”

In Q3 results, Grown Rogue reported a 7 per cent increase in revenue year-over-year to US$7 million. But, the company also had US$300,000 less in working capital at the end of the quarter compared to Q3 last year due to increasing expenses in New Jersey.

“We had a decline in our operating cash flow before changes in working capital, which was largely attributable to the ramp of spending in advance of launching New Jersey,” Strickler explained on Nov. 14.
