A six-month prostate-cancer injection has gained Chinese marketing approval as Foresee Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (Taipei Exchange stock code 6576) announced CAMCEVI 42 mg's approval on Monday.

In its Oct. 12 announcement, Foresee said Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., its licensing partner known as GenSci, had notified it of the National Medical Products Administration's decision. The approval covers adults with advanced prostate cancer, and GenSci will commercialize the ready-to-use leuprolide mesylate formulation in China.

Foresee is a Taiwan and U.S.-based specialty biopharmaceutical developer with a commercial long-acting injectable franchise and a portfolio of medicines at earlier stages of development. Google Finance's published exchange-coverage table, checked Oct. 12, assigns TPE to the Taiwan Stock Exchange and lists no Taipei Exchange feed.

The approval advances a licence carrying milestone payments and a share of product revenue, although the announcement gives no China launch date or payment triggered by the decision.

A licence announcement dated Nov. 17, 2020 set a US$8 million upfront payment and up to US$123.85 million in regulatory, technology-transfer and commercialization milestones. The terms also provide Foresee with a share of product revenue in China, without specifying the percentage.

That original agreement covered six-month and three-month injectable depot formulations and assigned GenSci all development, registration and commercialization costs in China. The milestone ceiling spans several categories of contingent payments; the Oct. 12 release does not identify how much has been earned or remains available under those terms.

"We are pleased that our partner GenSci will be launching CAMCEVI® 42 mg in China. These efforts will significantly contribute to the growth of our global CAMCEVI® franchise," Foresee chairman and chief executive Ben Chien said in the release.

CAMCEVI is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist delivered as a sustained-release injection under the skin. The six-month formulation offers a less-frequent dosing alternative, according to Foresee, which cautions that approved product labelling differs between countries.

Foresee says the formulation was approved in the United States in May 2021 and the European Union in May 2022. Its U.S. launch followed in April 2022.

China Rights Extend Beyond Prostate Cancer

The China licence covers current and pipeline indications, including advanced prostate cancer, central precocious puberty and premenopausal breast cancer. The newly announced approval is confined to advanced prostate cancer; the release describes a separate application for breast cancer.

GenSci submitted that supplemental application in May 2026, and the NMPA accepted it for substantive review, Foresee said. The company also reports completion of the China breast-cancer trial, but its announcement gives no decision date for that additional indication.

Among established listed oncology peers, AstraZeneca PLC LONAZN NASDAQAZN reported double-digit oncology growth in its July 27 half-year results. Across its business, revenue reached US$30.672 billion in the first half of 2026, with growth of 6 per cent at constant exchange rates.

Foresee's commercial model for China assigns execution to its licensee and ties part of its return to product revenue. Its Oct. 12 announcement provides no Chinese selling price, reimbursement terms or sales forecast, leaving the financial contribution unquantified.

The next dated milestone disclosed in the Oct. 12 release is Foresee's planned U.S. FDA submission for central precocious puberty in the second half of 2026. That would put another indication before the agency; GenSci's China launch and the NMPA's breast-cancer decision have no dates in the announcement.
