A Canadian cannabis software tech company will soon be representing its home country on a trade mission down under.
GrowerIQ just announced that it had been selected to join Team Canada on a trip to major Australian cities like Sydney and Brisbane. The excursion will begin on Feb. 16 and conclude on Feb. 21.
GrowerIQ specializes in enterprise resource management (ERP) technology with a particular focus on cultivation projects. This type of software manages multiple business areas. Specific features of GrowerIQ’s software include plant tracking, nutrient management, a “Master Batch” record log, environmental regulation in greenhouses, tools for streamlining extraction and a quality control assessment system.
AI has become key for enhancing the efficiency of each of these.
“We look forward to building stronger ties with Australian cannabis businesses and helping them achieve new levels of traceability, compliance, and operational excellence,” Andrew Wilson, founder of GrowerIQ, said in a statement.
Wilson’s company team members will also be attending the Australian Medical Cannabis Symposium at a convention centre in Brisbane during their time in the country.
Australian economic growth inspires mission
In addition to marijuana, the mission will focus on clean energy, mining, IT and other agricultural technologies. The Canadian government says robust economic growth in the Oceanic country has made it an ideal choice for the team’s endeavour.
“Between 2019 and 2024, Australia’s economy will have grown by 29 per cent,” the Government of Canada says, “with a nominal GDP reaching C$2.4 trillion in 2023.”
On another note, representatives from GrowerIQ recently attended the world’s largest cannabis business event in Las Vegas.

GrowerIQ gets ‘Software of the Year’ award in Toronto last year
The software developer was praised for its industry innovation at the 2024 Grow Up Awards in Canada’s largest city at the end of May.
“Winning this award is not just an honour,” GrowerIQ said, “it validates our mission and fuels our drive to keep pushing boundaries.”
Tommy Chong was one of the event’s most notable attendees.
In 2023, Canadian government regulators provided the company with a grant exceeding C$1 million to help propel its operations.
Additionally, GrowerIQ secured a 5-year contract with the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority that year to manage all of the marijuana production on the island.
GrowerIQ’s software powers cultivations in over 21 countries in a variety of languages.
