Blue Lagoon Resources Inc. (CSE: BLLG; FSE: 7BL; OTCQB: BLAGF) and the Lake Babine Nation (LBN) have officially inked a mine restart agreement. The pact will revive operations at the Dome Mountain gold mine, located just a 50-minute drive from Smithers, British Columbia.
The partnership is a result of more than a year of close collaboration between both parties. The mine restart agreement emphasizes a shared commitment to safety, environmental stewardship and respect for Indigenous rights.
Chief Murphy Abraham praised Blue Lagoon’s commitment to seeking Lake Babine’s consent for the project and conducting business in a manner that aligns with their cultural values.
The two parties have worked closely together for more than a year on the agreement.
Chief Abraham of the Lake Babine Nation said their goal was “to get to know the company, review their restart proposal, and discuss how this project could move forward in a way that is safe for our yintah and respectful of our Aboriginal title and rights.”

The Lake Babine Nation, one of the largest Indigenous nations in British Columbia, boasts a registered membership of over 2,500 people. Their territory in central British Columbia centers around Babine Lake, the province’s longest natural lake.
The Nation is actively implementing its inherent rights of self-government, self-determination, Aboriginal title, and other section 35 rights through the Lake Babine Nation Foundation Agreement, signed with British Columbia and Canada in September 2020. The 20-year reconciliation agreement provides a comprehensive roadmap for the progressive and collaborative implementation of Lake Babine’s section 35 rights.
“In the same spirit that this document was drafted and signed, the Company intends to meet and exceed every term of the agreement fundamentals, maintain a sustainable environment of respect, transparency and friendship,” Blue Lagoon CEO Rana Vig said.
The Dome Mountain Gold Mine restart represents a landmark achievement in responsible resource development and collaborative partnerships between industry and Indigenous communities. The agreement sets a precedent for future projects, demonstrating the potential for mutually beneficial outcomes when companies prioritize open communication, cultural sensitivity, and environmental sustainability.
