Blaize Holdings lowers annual sales outlook to US$32M‑US$36M
Blaize estimates Q3 revenue at US$0.5M and expects the remaining NeoTensr receivable to be paid in Q4.

A preliminary US$0.5 million third quarter leaves more than half of an AI hardware maker's 2026 sales forecast for the final three months. Blaize Holdings, Inc. NASDAQBZAI, the San Jose developer of AI inference processors and systems, said in an Oct. 5 filing that it now expects US$32 million to US$36 million in full-year revenue.
Blaize shares closed at US$0.44 on NASDAQBZAI as of 4 p.m. EDT on Oct. 5. Its company release was posted at 8:40 p.m. EDT that evening, so that closing price preceded the update. The preliminary quarter ended Sept. 30, and Blaize said the final figure could change when it finishes closing its books.
Blaize reported on Aug. 13 that first-quarter revenue was US$2.7 million and second-quarter revenue was US$12 million. Adding the preliminary US$0.5 million for the third quarter gives US$15.2 million through September. If that estimate holds, the revised forecast requires about US$16.8 million to US$20.8 million in fourth-quarter revenue by Dec. 31.
The Oct. 5 filing also disclosed a US$13.3 million receivable from NeoTensr, a systems integrator and software company, outstanding at June 30. Blaize said it received US$0.2 million on Sept. 30 and extended the payment terms, with collection of the remaining balance expected in the fourth quarter. The filing did not give a new contractual due date.
The Revenue Outlook Has Fallen Since April
Blaize maintained a US$130 million full-year forecast on April 14, when it announced a NeoTensr contract expected to generate up to US$50 million in its first year. The current US$32 million to US$36 million range is less than one-third of that April forecast. Blaize said in October that shipments scheduled for NeoTensr this quarter relate to the April contract, but it did not present the contract ceiling as revenue already earned.
The October filing says the revised outlook rests on binding, non-cancellable NeoTensr purchase orders and another order from an existing customer that is still being signed. The company attributes the revision to changed shipment timing and management of working capital for inventory purchases. It says it has enough inventory to fill some fourth-quarter orders and is seeking the rest from suppliers before year-end.
The company identified the preliminary third-quarter revenue as hardware sold in August to one European customer. Its filing says that estimate was prepared before quarter-end procedures were complete and might change materially. That qualification also limits the implied fourth-quarter calculation: every change to the September-quarter number changes the sales still needed to reach the annual range.
"Should there be delays in timing or in receiving payments from customers scheduled during the fourth quarter, the Company's revenue recognition for the year could be adversely affected," Blaize said in its Oct. 5 filing.
NeoTensr Payment Is Expected This Quarter
The extension of NeoTensr's receivable puts cash collection into the same quarter in which Blaize expects most of its annual sales. The filing says US$13.3 million was outstanding at June 30 and only US$0.2 million had been paid by Sept. 30. It does not specify a new payment date within the fourth quarter or say that collecting this balance will pay for the remaining inventory.
Blaize's April release said a prior NeoTensr order produced more than US$20 million of revenue in the fourth quarter of 2025. Those earlier sales establish the relationship, while the October filing supplies the later receivable and revised shipment timetable.
The same Oct. 5 filing says the U.S. Department of Justice sent subpoenas and inquiries to Blaize and certain employees and directors in July and August about its business and agreements with certain counterparties. Blaize also reported voluntary Securities and Exchange Commission requests for substantially similar information. It said it was cooperating and could not predict the investigations' outcome; the filing did not identify the counterparties in those requests.
The gap between contracted computing business and scheduled delivery also appears at QumulusAI Inc. NASDAQQMLS, the Atlanta provider of rented AI computing capacity. QumulusAI announced on Sept. 29 US$240.9 million of three-year GPU contracts, with customer handoffs targeted for December 2026 and early 2027. Mugglehead's earlier report followed the planned handoffs as the first test of those agreements.

For Blaize, the next dated test is Dec. 31, when the 2026 revenue year ends. Reaching guidance would require about US$16.8 million to US$20.8 million in total fourth-quarter revenue if the preliminary third-quarter estimate holds. Blaize also expects to collect the remaining NeoTensr receivable during that quarter.
