Liberty Defense Holdings Ltd. (CVE: SCAN) (OTCMRKTS: LDDFF) (FSE: E30) started its SAFETY Act applications through its partner, Aluma.
Announced on Friday, the SAFETY Act stands for Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies. It’s a federal law in the United States that provides liability protections to companies in the event of a terrorist attack. Further, it’s administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The process for certification ensures the effectiveness of security options, and also ensures processes and technologies meet performance standards.
Aluma is a company that specializes in advanced security technology. It focuses on developing and deploying solutions that enhance safety in various environments, particularly through innovative products like the HEXWAVE walkthrough screening system. This system utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to detect weapons and other potential threats in real-time.
“We are excited to partner with Liberty Defense to help achieve the SAFETY Act for the HEXWAVE for the urban security market,” said Akmal Ali, President, and CEO of Aluma.
“Our team has assisted other live venue operators (Live Nation), Original Equipment Manufacturers (VOTI), Service Providers (Prevent Advisors), Airport Authorities (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey) and Sports Franchises (Philadelphia Phillies) in the past to achieve this designation.”
Furthermore, Aluma and Liberty Defense will collaborate to achieve SAFETY Act certification for the HEXWAVE walkthrough people screening system, which uses AI and machine learning to detect weapons and other threats in real-time.

Security market increasing substantially over the next decade
HEXWAVE is a next-generation, AI-powered walkthrough people screening system designed to detect weapons and other threats in real-time.
Unlike traditional metal detectors, HEXWAVE uses machine learning and advanced algorithms to analyze individuals as they move through the system. Additionally, this helps identify concealed weapons, explosives, and other hazards without manual screening or slowing down the flow of people.
It offers a non-intrusive, fast, and efficient solution for high-security environments such as airports, stadiums, and government buildings.
The global security screening market was valued at approximately USD$9.95 billion in 2024. Furthermore, marketing analysis firm Expert Market Research projects it to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.4 per cent between 2025 and 2034. It also pegs the market potentially reaching around USD$19.05 billion by 2034.
Research indicates heightened security concerns and increasing demand for advanced screening technologies are behind this recent growth.
Concurrently, the artificial intelligence (AI) in security market is experiencing significant expansion, according to Mordor Intelligence.
Valued at USD$30.02 billion in 2025, analysis indicates the market will grow at a CAGR of 19.02 per cent. It will reach USD$71.69 billion by 2030.
The analysis also attributes the surge to the growing adoption of AI for enhancing threat detection, automating responses to cyberattacks, and analyzing vast amounts of data for anomalies.
