SuperCom’s (NASDAQ:SPCB) cybersecurity subsidiary, Safend, received government contract renewal orders of approximately USD$600K for license fees for endpoint seat expansions, and maintenance for an existing 50,000 seats on Wednesday.

The licensing orders include Safend’s Data Protection Suite modules, including Safend Protector and Safend Encryptor as well as antivirus protection through AVScan Integration.

Safend Protector controls endpoint devices and data flow by controlling what files go where and when, and keeping any external media devices encrypted. It does this at every seat in the office where there’s a computer carrying sensitive material connected to a network. Safend Encryptor provides transparent full-disc data encryption with company-wide data security.

Big developments in endpoint security

The endpoint security sector has gone through substantial changes from its early days when it was primarily focused on antivirus software. Now it’s completely changed into a sector focused on more comprehensive cyber-defense. It now includes antivirus, threat detection investigation and response, device management, data leak protection and more.

For Safend’s part, it develops information security software. Its product suite protects data prior to transfer using data encryption, port and device restriction and content inspection. Additionally, these capabilities help Safend’s customers maintain regulatory compliance and protect their corporate data without sacrificing efficiency or productivity. Safend has sold more than 3 million licenses for its products to over 3,000 customers worldwide.

SuperCom provides traditional and digital identity solutions to governments and organizations all over the world. It uses proprietary e-Government platforms and other software for traditional and biometric enrollment, personalization, issuance and border control services.

The company also offers a radio-frequency identification (RFID) and mobile technology and product suite, with advanced complementary services. It rolls this suite out to industries like healthcare and homecare, security and safety, community public safety, law enforcement, electronic monitoring, livestock monitoring, and building and access automation.

“Most of these customers renew their contract year after year, for over a decade in some cases, attesting to the confidence large governmental and enterprise organizations have in Safend’s industry-leading solutions, when looking to protect some of their most vital infrastructures,” said Ordan Trablesi, SuperCom’s president and CEO.
